Just a couple of big signings, in our case it's trickier as a number of our first 11 were loans and it appears like we're not going to bring many of them back. Suggests to me even more so that the ones we still have should play an integral role next year. Yates being one of them Indeed, other than Yates, Worrall, McKenna and Johnson, I can't see any of the play off winning side featuring regularly. Cook, surridge and colback will likely feature in some capacity but as first choice - I would be surprised. Unless we bring back Davis and Garner then struggle to see the others getting a look in Whether this is good or bad remains to be seen but it also explains why we have been linked to so many players.

Unfortunately the play off team as a whole will not be good enough for the Prem. One off cup games are a different beast to actually playing in the division. The trick will be to try and replicate the same atmosphere within the squad which is where Cooper comes in. Players like Yates, Johnson, Worrall will help, they will be chomping at the bit to play.

That same atmosphere needs to come from the stands as well. There is no point in uniting behind to help get the side up, then turn on them if things dont go too well now we are there. We have to stay behind the team and manager come what may!!

Hopefully it’s a situation that we don’t find ourselves in.

Reported elsewhere that he is out for a month but this is his thread.
I feel for the lad. Madforit and GreenMan will be delighted though.

Terrible news for him and us. This could really knock his whole season back. Also leaves us with a gaping hole in midfield now with no Garner replacement yet to arrive.

If we can get O'Brien in soon and up to speed then it wont be the worst situation to start the season with Colback and O'Brien as starters in midfield with Cafu on the bench. Not ideal and we'd miss Yates' energy but not a complete write off.

I don't think O'Brien will be the only midfielder that we bring in.
