Brice Samba
Tricky, I think it was at the time. Point being Cloughie started at the back and worked forward. Cooper seems to being the same.

Didnt Roy Keane try it when he bought Gordon when he was manager at Sunderland? I recall he mentioned the Cloughy idea of building from the back at the time. Keane paid a fortune for him. The only trouble was that Gordon was absolutely crap.

That's right he did. He wanted to build the spine of the team, starting at the back. Along with 'Shilts' he brought in 'big Larry Lloyd' and Kenny Burns, then Archie Gemmell came in as one of the last signings? He also got Peter Withe, who in all honesty, I had never heard of before! I've got to say, in hindsight, that was a cracking performance by Cloughie and if Steve can do half as well this summer, then we will have nothing to worry about

So are we all in favour of Brice Samba being replaced by a better keeper then?

Brice, for me, has shown his hand by wanting out. He says it isnt about money, but respect. What sort of respect does he want? More money? Cooper respected him by keeping him back in the side, after Horvath went on international duty, even though he hadn't put a foot wrong. To be quite honest, Figueredo and Bong have my respect more than Samba has right now. They weren't even getting picked for matches, but they were there on the Wembley pitch celebrating with the rest of the squad with no malice what so ever

I actually think Brice thought he would play a master stroke by expressing a wish to move and the club would bow down to his wishes. Back fired if thats the case hasnt it?

Cooper wants loyalty in his squad. He doesn't want prima donnas. he is trying to build a team mentality, free of egos and selfishness. He wants everyone of his players, be it first team, U23's or the academy teams to be as one. Brice, if the reports are true, has shown Cooper he is not made of the stuff Cooper is looking for in his players.

For me, if we can get better than Samba, and I think Henderson is way better, then we should cash in while we can.

What we don't want is disharmony in the changing room or individuals playing up disrupting the squad

According to Daily Fail, Samba was offered double his salary on a new contract but wants to go back to France.

My head has been turned by Henderson.
A real opportunity for an England No.1.
Oh, those were the days.

Can't see any way back now for Brice.
Who would have thought that so soon after the Sheffield United match and so soon after getting promoted.
