Brice Samba

But no player is bigger than any club and all players have to realise they are employed by their clubs, not the other way around.

If I approached my boss and demanded a list of things to make me feel better, including respect, he would show me the door and tell me to f**k off (quite literally too!).

I can't help thinking though, that somebody has had a word in his ear about something, like the Pope rumour for instance, and he has taken this the wrong way. Would he sooner throw up the chance to pit himself against some of the greatest players in the world by staying at Forest, in front of arguably some of the most vociferous and passionate supporters in the country, or would he sooner be in a ligue 1 relegation battle with some French outfit? It just doesn't make any sense?

I would be amazed if he has directly gone to Cooper and said any of the things suggested.

Maybe he was having talks and heard the rumour about Pope and whether that is true or not we do not know. He is hot-headed as we know and could well have 'exploded' and then refused the contract. I think he will eventually calm down but if Pope is just a rumour and we are not serious I think all Brice wants to hear is that he will be first choice and he will sign and stay. I would prefer this scenario then having to spend millions on another GK when it could be better spent elsewhere.

The question is simple... in our current situation is Brice replaceable? In fact this should be the question the club ask when any player is looking to leave.
Brice has been immense since coming back in to the team but people seem to have very short memories. He was awful at the start of the season. He was indifferent last season. He was brilliant in his first season.
Can we get someone of equal or better quality? Again of course we can. The issue is why spend money on an area that is already covered when we so desperately need to use the money, wisely, in other areas.
If it’s Brice being greedy then let him go. If not... get him signed up

With respect how do you know that?

Just for the record the club have remained tight lipped and have said nothing at all.

You've probably just summed up why there's question marks within the club about whether he can step up. I agree with you, I'd give him what he wants and stick with him but no none can say he's been consistently good since he came here because he clearly hasn't.

This needs sorting asap because if it's not resolved quickly it's going to eat into our prep.

Lol.

I am repeating what I have been told directly.

The same question could be reversed. You’ll believe what you believe and I’ll do mine.

It makes no sense for the club to leak it.

Why would the club divide it's own fanbase? It makes no sense at all.

The club have said nothing.

We all know Samba is a loose cannon etc and it's obvious from which end the leak came from. Haven't you seen the tweets from his brother or from someone pretending to be his brother or whoever he is.

I think he or his agent are just posturing for more £££. Another element may well be he thought he would be offered the number 1 spot in his contract and forest have said no and have shared they may well sign another keeper as competition.

His tweet the other day was obviously now a spit the dummy reaction.

He remains under contract for a year- we hold the cards. He should get his head down and he will get his rewards - here or elsewhere…

Agree with you there Sniff the club know fans will be upset and divide opinion so they wouldn't have leaked it.

It’s not his brother, they are in no way related.

It won’t divide the fanbase, they will back the club and Samba will be gone unless it gets resolved.

I love samba but we missed a trick not signing Fraser forester from Southampton on a free awesome keeper gone to spurs as a no2
