After saying thanks to everyone now it's time for the brutal reality of what we should do/need to do next year.
Suggested squad:
K
Samba
Horvath
CB
Worrall
McKenna
Cook
Panso (Loan out)
1 new CB
RWB
Layrea
Spence (please?!)
LWB
New signing
Lowe (perm signing)
CM
Yates
Colback
Garner (maybe)
Ojeda (Loan out?)
New signing
AM
Zinc (maybe?)
New signing
WF
Johnson
New signing
Mighten (Loan out?)
S
Davis (permanent signing)
Surridge
Grabban
So plenty of work to be done.
Required signings:
LWB, Spence, Garner, Zinc, Lowe, Davis, CB, WF (Bowler?), AM (Gibbs White?)
Its so exciting.

Wassy, I think we will need a better quality of signings to those that you mention if we want to stay/progress in the Premier League. We will no doubt try and sign some of the younger players who have been on loan this season but they may have better offers on the table, we shall see. I just hope we do not go down the route of unknown players, hyped up by the agents, media and price tag which has been the downfall of many a club achieving PL status. I am positive that both DM and SL will have formed a plan and have knowledge of what may happen regards the loan players, they have brought us back to the "big club" status once again so I trust them 100% to do the right thing by us the supporters, role on the Summer for some exciting signings and we are now much better position to be able to pinch other clubs gems!

Gibbs-White and a new top class left back will be a good start.

I was listening to Darren Fletcher earlier and he was advocating the key is to keep as much of the team together as possible. That would be my approach with a sprinkling of high quality additions on top eg a LWB and Gibbs white perhaps.
I think its a little different for us as we had a lot of loans so it's just a case of how many of them we can convince to sign on next year and then go from there. Plus Brennan and Cooper getting their contracts tied up too.

Don’t forget Ojeda in the central midfield, still hasn’t had chance to show himself off properly yet but was there getting his medal yesterday and will definitely be part of the match day squad next season.
Who also need to think about who definitely moves on that isn’t out of contract.

Yeah was thinking everyone else should be moved on if possible. Although the likes of Cafu and Lolley are clearly good influences on the squad.
I would be looking to loan out the likes of Mighten, Ojeda etc. Assuming they're not required for the bench. Mighten on particular needs regular football so see how good he can be.

It's going to be very interested to see how this thread takes shape throughout the summer.

Cant afford to be sentimental, we have a championship squad that now needs upgrading to a premiership one. Will be very interesting. Some popular players will be gone I'm afraid but the club must come first. I wonder how many of the squad who enjoyed yesterday will never reach those dizzy heights again.

Yes spot on RG. It was lovely to see the genuine elation of players and those who weren’t even in the squad yesterday happy for those that were. All that is down to the team spirit SC has created. But yes Im sure deep down the likes of Joe Lolley are wondering if their time here is up, as you say unfortunately we cant be sentimental.
As for Wassy’s list above would like another CF to replace Grabban and I think we need someone better and more reliable than Lowe as LWB.
Over to you Dane

I was seeing Lowe as backup to someone better, can't very well rely on Colback as backup LWB again! Also, would likely be pretty cheap.
Fletch was saying on the radio earlier, the big mistake teams make is too many signings too soon. So I think most of our team should be given a chance. That said I think Lolley and possibly Grabban would've been off whichever league we were in.

Johnson has overtaken Mighten, it might well be because of that season he had with Lincoln.

Just looking at our current contracted squad (not counting loans) and trying to work out who realistically is good enough to be a regular in a match day squad. 20 places to fill with 9 subs named.
Good enough
Samba
Horvarth
Worrall
Mckenna
Cook
Colback
Yates
Surridge
Johnson
Maybe
Laryea
Cafu
Lolley
Possibly one or two of the current U23s too.
Not good enough (or not yet ready) in my opinion
Mbe Soh
Panzo
Ojeda
Fornah
Arter
Ioannou
Mighten
Silva
DaCosta
So thats 9 out of 20 with 3 maybes. Puts into perspective the scale of the task and cost involved.
Its meant to be a positive though because actually we dont have that much dead wood so there is a huge opportunity to improve the squad.
In my opinion anyone coming in must be better than what we currently have or have the potential to be better. No more signings as “back up” or strange here today gone tomorrow signings.
