I expect a lot of bitterness, I would be.
Forest were the better team over the 90 though and deserved the win.

Does anyone find it ironic that weve had so many S**t referee decisions this season, so many that the club felt the need to write to compIain to the efl, and then on the final game, the biggest game, we get two big big decisons go our way?

Karma.

I was thinking the same thing on the way to work this morning. Forest have had some shockers.
They have been returned to them.

Classy management of the situation by our club. We put the pressure on the referee people by trlling them formally we were aggrieved. I dont know if it made any difference at all yesterday but I cant have hurt. Small margins as the late great Warburton used to say.

Absolutely. Maybe they saw the big guy in the stadium and didn't dare give any decisions that might anger him. And glad they didn't as not sure I could have dealt with extra time.

That said they do say that these things even themselves up over the season. And after Bournemouth away when we were denied a penalty then I guess all is fair in love and war.

But if was a Huddersfield fan I would feel aggrieved. Not that I care this morning as we are in the fecking premier league. Not sure it has sunk in

Yeah I'd be fuming, I can just about accept the first one he was on his way down but the second one was stonewall surely! Evened out for the Bournemouth one, we'd already have gone up if that got given anyway (possibly)

What a day

It won't matter what they say or think all that matters is that in the history books it will say that Nottingham Forest won 1-0

Like Malmo where we battered them, it says 1-0 Forest

Hamburg laid siege to us but the history books say 1-0 Forest.

Looking forward to the seasons to come.

Huddersfield Fans Playoff Final Match Comments .......

Just been chatting to a Forest fan in q lift at the hotel I'm staying at. Within 30 secs he was telling me that thousands of their fans have bought England U21 tickets to get a booking ref to enable purchasing tickets in our end and I should be careful who I'm sitting next too. I just laughed and said "I'm sure I'll be fine" and departed with "if only crowd size equated to success on the pitch" as I exited. I actually despise these guys more than Wednesday or Leeds fans. At least they do have the crowd history to back up their massive bellendness

Just walked through Trafalgar Square; my young mate let on to two older Forest fans with a polite nod - the response:

A snarled “F**k off”

I just don’t get it if I’m honest

Is there a shittier chant than that stupid "You Reds!" thing that the Notts fans do?

It's the verbal equivalent of chestwanking.

Here we go.
Sarr makes me nervous!!!!

Giving it away too easily at the moment. Need some cooler heads to keep possession.

Garbage from both sides.

Bit disappointed that Sky haven't shown that Forest strikers dad in the crowd yet. Been waiting aaaaages

Fooking hell.
OG. Gave the player far too much room the play that in. Really need to look more attacking from this point on. Thomas the only player doing anything going forward.

Too slow and ponderous going forward.

A big game so get the nerves and pressure BUT Carlos needs to change something at the half.

Sorba has charged forward a handful of times - but that's it.

Sinani nonexistent. Pipa is too slow to go forward. That side of the field has offered nothing.

Been a poor game so far to be honest but they deliver a ball into the box with pace and it’s in off the defender.

The players who would struggle was obvious and they have done. I understand Sinani for his set pieces but he kills our hopes in open play by dallying on the ball and getting tackled

O’Brien and Thomas have given us a bit of energy, but otherwise that was poor.

Nerves are completely understandable, but you’ve now potentially only got 45 minutes left of your season.

Go out there and give it some.

We sit too deep that goal is a result need to be pressing higher up .

S**t goal to concede just b4 half time.

Can we produce any form of attacking display?

We have to come out now. Risk of being picked off

Pipa anonymous, Sinani ineffective. Levi couldn't do much with the goal. We dont look like we might score, they look more threatening. An early goal 2nd half would be useful. Maybe Tino for Sinani?

They S**t themselves when Sheff Utd threw bodies forward. Got to try and keep it 1-0 and they'll drop deeper and deeper to protect their lead

Get Rhodes and Anjorin on.

Plan a almost worked, for 0-0 at half time.. But now we're having to attack and that's right up forests Street. Back,4 now, half time changes?

Embarrassing

Does never learn this three at the back try to push Toffs and Pipa forward hasn’t worked for ages go 4-4-3 you donkey the space down the channels Spence is loving this I can’t believe these tactics given how we have used them before and we struggle

Get Thomas to switch wings and get Holmes on for Sinani and we can open these up.

Game is very much still on but first 15 of second half is key

Asking a lot to keep Forest at bay and break as and when. Second half we have to be more proactive. Leaving more spaces potentially at the back.

Sarr was an accident waiting to happen. Hope he bucks up.

We have to change things now, our use of the ball going forward has been very poor. We will now have to chase the game which is what exactly Forest want. We need an early goal or this could be a very long and painful 45 mins

I don’t think we did badly in that half at all. Matched them and a shitty goal only gives them the edge. We have enough on the bench to change the tide again. I honestly think we will win still. Believe.

Game over.

That's the spirit!

Sinani is usually our main free kick taker from central positions and corners from the left. Sorba is taking them all. And not very well either.

Surely a pen?
Well I have to say VAR made that look like a pen.

Because it was

f*****g cunts. That is a pen. Refs looking after their own.

They had all them angles where you can clearly see contact yet pick the one to slow down where it doesn't look like it. Sham

Ffs am still screaming at the Tele that was a stone wall pen & a total disgrace that it wasn't given!
Cmon Town

Why would he go down there if there want any contact?? He had a relatively easy chance

Its a clear pen. Playing 343 is a disaster. He's done well to get town to here, playing these players in this system in any game let alone a play off final is asking for trouble.

Someone ought to get a message to the Town players to let them know they are losing and show some f*****g urgency.

Getting a bit silly now. Two pens in a row there.

I feel really really flat after the pen incident.

Almost don't want to watch anymore.

Hate the game to be remembered for that.

f**k VAR. What is the f*****g point? please tell me.

2 good pen shouts now

2nd one was even more blatant

VAR no foul, we want Forest going up.

This is actually a joke. That 1st pen shout they had to find an angle to bullshit it. This is ridiculous, the 2nd is a clear pen also. Not even checked

2 stonewall penalties denied. f**k Tierney and Moss the cheating cunts.

Have we even had a shot

Agenda is clear they want forest up

Var didn't even review the 2nd is a total disgrace ffs.

TV commentators are speechless.

Would be nice to have a shot at goal at some point

1 stonewall penalty and 1 very questionable appeal not even looked at by the ref. Even the commentators bringing it up.

Town have looked better second half but still lack urgency.

Won’t miss the premier league games but the money would have been good to get Hoyle paid off and the club on a stable footing.

Town need to have a look at them self also for letting that many forest fans in our end, f*****g disgraceful

f*****g robbed.

Very dissapointed with Town today, forget the penalty claims, not one single shot on target the entire game, Forest keeper did not make a save in anger

We deserved that we didn’t play that first half perhaps we should have had two pens but that wasn’t the correct approach far too conservative but you’ll get everyone saying we punched above our weight blah blah but cmon was that the best we can play no shots on goal ultra cautious bollocks tbh

If you listen very carefully you can hear the sound of Sky as they shoot their load over Forest getting into the PL.

Still not seen that strikers dad in the crowd yet. Did he even manage to get a ticket?

f*****g lame town. Embarrassing!

Shut up you stupid c**t

p.s. Can't wait to watch them get battered on MOTD next season

2nd one more of a pen, but you cant go 90 minutes in a playoff final without a shot on target and blame injustice. Poor in the final third. Not that fussed to be honest, looking forward to next season, and Forest finding out it isnt all sweetness and light in the PL. We just didnt play well enough on the day.

Spot on that mate. 2 S**t teams playing S**t football there. Caused mainly by town trying to be smart and for a reason ilp never understand, playing 343 with sarr at the back in the play off final. Im not quite sure why he didn't play the lads in their best positions or what he can see that I cant, but hey ho. Championship is a much better league.

Forest were very poor in the second half and had VAR done it’s job Town could have won.

Blatant penalty but we were pretty rubbish. We've won alot of games being rubbish this season but that was one too many. Don't feel too upset, we go again next season but really need a quality striker and another playmaker

That was a fix. Pure and simple. There is no other explanation.

I hope Moss and Tierney enjoy their bungs the corrupt cunts.

Only positive is that fat c**t Moss won’t be reffing anymore games. What a absolute useless fat pudding that fella is.

Town didn’t do enough to win today, should have had to penalties but we didn’t defend their goal well enough. We weren’t good enough in the end.

No way will we be as lucky mid table next year but the players have done well this season to say some aren’t the best technically tbh that lack of genuine quality especially up front is our downfall and who of quality would come to Huddersfield that’s the main problem even if the finance,as
if by magic appears ?
All I’m all it was a great effort bar today which panned out as a lot of us feared with a conservative gone Forest too much respect approach, no high press nonsense

Zero shots on target..

And just what did Forest offer, that’s right, f**k all, we should have had 2 pens, the O Brian one was a stone waller.

I dont feel at all robbed. Would have been nice to get the pen, but performances like that dont make me feel that we could have made any mark in the PL, whereas we have every chance of another decent season in the championship. How we got to where we did without the playmaker and goalscorer most of us were calling for in Jan is the thing that makes this season a real success. Think I will be over this by tomorrow morning. f**k the PL, and you can stick last spot on MOTD up Linekars arse.

Just to be clear....I don't mind losing on a level playing field....but today....

A PL ref is appointed to ref an important EFL game. Who do the PL consider most likely to enhance the "product" of the PL? Have a guess.....

They could have put a f*****g axe through the head of a couple of our players in the box today and we still wouldn't have got a pen. Cheating, cheating bastards.

Forest didn’t show up. Tbf we didn’t, but a huge improvement once we took the Sinani phantom off the pitch. A hard one to accept with those decisions. Would have preferred a drubbing tbh.

All you VAR fans happy now?

f**k VAR
f**k embarassing clapstick..why ffs?
f**k scabs
Oh and f**k the Premier League

Robbed today by Jon Moss and VAR, Forest very poor 2nd half, town better, onwards and upwards

Forest fan in the bar I watched the game. Went to congratulate him and did say they were lucky

“Just hope we get 13 points next season”

Was all he was worried about..

One of my best mates was a linesman at the highest level and I generally value his opinion. Immediately after the penalty appeal he texted to say there was contact but not enough to overturn the decision - and that if a penalty had been given, it wouldn't have been overturned either. He texted back a few minutes later - different angles showed it's a stonewall penalty. So why don't they look at all angles, not just the one angle?

Also Jon Moss is now about to be the referee's boss. My mates view is that Tierney wasn't going to overturn a decision by the guy who will be his boss next season.

I hope they get battered in every game they play next season.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Huddersfield look at legal action for those 2 penalties. I think everyone, including forest thought those were penalties.

Not overly disappointed to be honest. All I have kept thinking about the last 2 weeks is do I want to see us get pumped again most weeks in the prem.

I would have loved to win but more to make another great day and memory like our other Wembley games.

I'm a bit disappointed that we couldn't muster a shot on target and the first half we basically wanted to play for a 0-0. We had a decent enough plan defensively and we nullified their quality in attack. But like a few times this seasons we were really lacking going forward.

In terms of the penalties, people think that var overturn things like the ones we could have had in the semis. They don't. Unless it's some innocuous handball of course. If they were both given today they wouldn't have been overturned the other way.

Congrats to forest. They have earned their go at the prem. They will now have to get used to being the very small fish among huge egos.

Continued....
Last comment from me. Even though today was a poor performance and CC may regret some things in a one off final, the season has defied all expectations and the players and staff have been a credit to finish above teams with top budgets and players. Fingers crossed we can sort out the ownership situation permanently, whether its DH wanting another go or selling it to an other. Then giving CC a bit of backing as reward for what he has managed to do this season. We MUST NOT do a Barnsley now and weaken the squad. Please let's use this to build again, both from the financial rewards of the playoffs and from the confidence and results on the field of play, to push on and establish a successful future team and club.

The Forest player that fouled Rhodes crossed himself when the VAR decision came through!

Reading fan here.

You were robbed there. Feel for you.

It's 100% corrupt. How can the tears in the VAR room look at those and say no penalty.

They were nailed on.

Horrible system and inept people running it.

We were second best. I think the game plan was to go into half time nil nil and go from there as we seemed to do. The problem was we conceded right at the break and forest didn't need to come at us.

I didn't expect us to win this, forest are a good side. My concern is we are going to lose toffello, thomas, and O'brien and not replace them with decent alternatives.

Can we not just buy the equivalent of the referee from today?.

How many saves did Samba have to make? Never mind the penalties that weren’t given, we didn’t test Samba even once.

The support today where was the singing ?even before kick it’s as though we thought we would lose were was the belief I can understand a bit during the game the flat Town perubut that’s when you get behind your team

Forest did exactly what we would do if we scored first. Sat back and Invited us to come at them we just didn't have the ability to create any real chances.

Should have had a pen yes. I don't feel like we were robbed though In the grand scheme of things though.

Fairplay to Forest, they'll be back down here the season after next.

All three sides that have gone up probably come down with Brentford in the mix for relegation the gulf on class is massive we all know that

End of day it's corrupt but we did not do enough samba could have been on his holidays. we needed to make sure it didn't go down to others.
Forrest were gash chance missed.

We got robbed but let's face it, we were absolutely shite, as were Forest.

Poor game of football but I disagree with those saying tactics were wrong. It was obvious we were to slow their game down and offer them no space. Forest looked completely out of ideas and were out on their arses by 70 minutes. Personally I thought the tactics were spot on but what was missing was the usual quality be it with passes, movement and set pieces. The penalty calls change the momentum. Just one of those days I’m afraid. But I get the grumblings. Long way to come for no shots on target.

Proud, hard to argue we deserved nothing from today. Heard a forest fan on Wembley way on the phone saying they were ‘dynamite’. Everyone’s biased but glad I’m not that deluded

On the game, and ignoring the thundercunt of officials, the lineup was a mistake. Sarr should never be trusted for a game of this magnitude and we were too defensive. We looked far better when Hogg dropped deeper and Russell got on the ball.

Final ball from everyone very poor. We got in behind loads but never put any real quality in.

Lewis O'Brien was brilliant once again in what will be his last game for Town.

We defended well and the fluke that happened seemed the only way Forest would score. Nicholls was very quiet.

Both were penalties in my opinion but neither was given by the on-field ref and so would not have been awarded in the other playoff finals either - or in any of our other games this season. VAR is suffocating the game alright but any anger today should be directed at Moss. Shame as I actually thought he had reffed it well up to that point.

What's that for us now....five finals in a row without scoring a goal? An astonishing record.

Think Forest will finish ahead of Fulham and Bournemouth next season. And hopefully L**ds

What about when the ball went to cooper for our throw in and he rolled it away from Toffolo. Pathetic c**t.

VAR and the penalties has already been done to death, but what about all the rotational fouling on O’Brien in the first half. Must’ve been hacked down 5 times when he’s gone past his man and was running on the defence and Moss let them get away with just a free kick every time. After a few times he should’ve called the captain over and told them it’s a yellow card every time. Piss weak.

Disagree think forest will struggle big time next year. Johnson won’t hack the big league, boro want £17 million for Spence . Zinkerman and garner won’t come cheap . Bottom of the league with very few points my prediction and I’m not trying to be mean. Thought they had the luck and a fat referee to push them over line today.

They shithoused the game after they’d taken the lead. Forest have done what we did in 2017, stumbled over the line. Gutted to lose today, but we’ll all get over it pretty quickly. Hopefully another decent season next time.

Forest really weren’t that cranky today, but finals are tight, they managed us out of the game.

I don’t think Samba will be given the same latitude as he has been these last few games, in the PL next time.

Remember these times folks, because it does make the successful times that much better…

Imagine the outcry if Johnson had been kicked as many times as O Brien got taken out.

The strange thing was, on the Tube back, no one was remotely pissed off.
As for myself, disappointed we lost but would have been more gutted if we'd have lost the Reading Final.
As for Forest, depends how kind the starting fixtures are for them. Get Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool in the first 4-6 fixtures and they'll come straight back down. Get a bit of an easier start and they might be OK.
One thing for sure they'll be on the end of controversial VAR decisions, but probably not in their favour next season.

The Forest supporters were pumped, understandably. The lads in our box were so up for it, they’ve been starved of any sort of success for nearly as long as we were before the PL promotion.

I suppose the media got their fairytale…

Their owner is an interesting character.

After now seeing the 2 penalty shouts, I can only concur with some of the comments on the BBC, good that he’s retiring, those were shocking decisions and proof that this game was also about his legacy…

As supporters though, we have to take the S**t that will undoubtedly come our way, dust ourselves down, and hope we can go again with the same determination that saw us through to the final. Third defeat in umpteen games, unfortunately it was the one that counted.

No hard feelings against the Forest supporters, it was the officials that didn’t do their job…

I watched the highlights and as a neutral (and many others of Redcafe) believe that you were robbed, everyone knows that Moss shouldn’t be allowed to ref Subuteo never mind an actual game. Shocking referring, the first penalty claim you can clearly see that if the town player doesn’t pull his leg then there’s contact and he goes down…..possibly injured. The second was about as stonewall as you can get, maybe they just wanted the “big” club in, either way it was shocking referring.

I don't understand why some think they were robbed because of a couple of shouts for a pen. There is no guarantee that they would have scored from a pen if one had been given and even if they did the game would have played out differently and they probably would have still lost. The truth is that they created no clear cut chance and Samba never had a single save to make.
We were the better team on the day and we deserved to win the game penalty shouts or not.

We had 2 clear penalties not given in those final games.......Luton and Bournemouth.

Had we got them, we most likely would have gone up auto.

So its Karma that 2 "potential" penalties were not given................Karma Karma Karma..........
