Nice to have a striker on the bench yesterday.

Murphy's virus is taking a long time to clear.

Since Murphy's career began at Sunderland his league appearance 
starts (to date) total - 314 with a total of 91 games from the bench, 
with a goals tally of 98.

That career started in June 2005 so within that period of 13 & a half 
years he averages 30 games per season but not sure how many of 
those games he as missed through injury.

Last season he was involved in 33 league games with us so it's pretty 
much on par with his career but there are quite a few dubbing him as
a "sick note"

I can't believe his FA Cup stats within that 13 years where he has only 
accrued 9 appearances and scoring 1 goal (remarkable) and 10 Apps.
in the League Cup with his only 2 goals with us!!!!

At the age of 35+ now I think he does remarkably well but I would
imagine this could be the last season we shall see him.

From what I've seen of.him in a red shirt he does look pretty decent, good.first touch and trying to take on his man, also looked good at holding to ball up.

Heard yesterday that Ansarifard could be going BACK to Olympiakos.

If so we will need to sign a new striker in January.

Despite Saturdays shambles I thought that Karim looked good. He was determined and showed some neat control. I hope that he gets a chance from the Club and from us.
