Liverpool:

Loved that. Good cup tie, good atmosphere, great away end and the run to a quadruple continues.

Refereeing horror show, commentary horror show. Standard FA Cup affair.

Not our best game but you have to give Forest a lot of credit, ran their socks off.
Jota was awful apart from the goal.

Well, we’re through. That’s all that matters from that game. Not much quality but that often happens away to lower league opposition.

The dive from the Forest lad was more of a penalty than Jesus earlier.

Should have had at least one pen and the ref gave them everything all night, typical give the little team everything so the magic of the cup continues. Can’t wait for the our goal was offside and they should have had a pen shouts though.

Lost the plot a bit second half, after offering nothing for 70 mins they got in behind us several times when Fabinho went off. We got the goal anyway and thankfully the pen decision went our way because you always felt the underdog narrative was being played.

I'd have been livid if I was a Forest fan regarding that pelanty. But I'm a Liverpool fan livid at our pelanty so that makes us even.

Didn’t manage to watch the entire thing, but seems they had the better opportunities. We just took our chance and they didn’t.

That was tough enough. They played probably their best football and we played our worst football and still won. So it's all good.

Fucking hell. That was a proper cup tie!

Wow ITV, you certainly wanted Forest to win.

We are through but I hate Pawson. What a hopeless referee.

Had a good game for me.

The win is all that matters. Credit to Forest for turning that into a battle, dragging us down a level and not giving up. We perhaps should have coped better but it’s been a busy period.

Was astonished Pawson didn't give the shout for a pen as he gave them every foul during the game. He was clearly right as it wasn't pen, he dragged his feet until he felt contact. Tough game, Forest played well and were a much more difficult game than Everton were for Palace. But I guess Firmino and Jota both probably should have scored earlier in the game.

That was a proper cup tie, really enjoyable.

Craig Pawson what a Thunderc*nt he is, he doesn't even hide his hate for us.

Was i the only one who thought our goal could have been given offside, and they had a half decent pen shout.....only to remind myself of the shite their fans were singing and thought to myself *don't deserve fuck all, pricks*

ESPN commentators didnt think it was a Penalty. Twellman and Champion called it pretty fairly. Diaz one also was not a pen either.

No wonder Klopp was fuming that offside against Diaz he was literally 15 yards onside bobby just left it.

Evens itself out because Forest had an offside going the same way in the first half when he was about 5 yards inside his own half!

Imagine the jizz feat if Forest weren’t actually shite.

Utter shitbags with their "always the victims" chants. Especially as they were actually at Hillsborough on the day.

Especially as Forest left those 97 seats empty as a tribute. Rather disappointing by those idiots who sang it.

Think Forest played really well, reminded me of how Brentford played against us at the beginning of the season. That Djed Spence looks like a really good player.

Made hard work of that , Jota was dire besides his goal , could’ve lost that quite easily if they’d taken their chances.

Have that ye fucking scabs.

Fucking vermin singing that, quite unbelievable. Sick bastards.

We were poor at times but fair play to Forest they worked their arses off and made some chances but fuck me, Pawson et al in full magic-of-the-cup-mode.

Was there any naughty stuff / Hillsborough songs from A block anyone know? couldnt hear any from TE it was all positive stuff I heard. Im not sure if they are referring to during the game or after.

Quite a number of our fans have developed a rather pathetic habit of baiting the away fans in the car park after the game, they do it to nearly everyone now. They did the “always the victims” one to Liverpool but Derby Leicester Sheffield and many others get their own personal version. It goes well beyond banter on some occasions from plenty who are old enough to know better.

Ive seen quite a few comments regarding the "always the victims" chant SM, but I didnt hear it on TV although sometimes it was hard to hear what anything was being sung when both sets of fans went at it.

If our fans did sing that, then I am very disappointed in them. Would they have sung it if they had actually been there? (I suspect most who were singing it (allegedly) weren't old enough to even know the full horrors of that afternoon and that is from a Forest fans perspective, let alone a Liverpool fans.

I was there and I have to admit that I did well up when I saw the tribute NFFC made to the 97, it brought a lot of very sad and unpleasant memories flooding back.

Our club made a very classy gesture in covering up those seats but if it is true our fans were singing that, then they made our club look ridiculous by making what could be seen as a token gesture rather than a heartfelt one.

And before anyone goes off on one at me for siding with the Scousers, I can assure you that I hate them almost as much as I hate Derby. But the 97 were innocents who went to watch a game of football and never went home.

Agreed Tricky

As I said not sure during the game, only heard “sign on” get a loud airing.

Afterwards as I said lots of “always the victims” repeatedly sung by many hundreds of our fans, not just a few I assure you. Its not banter its just really scummy and embarrassing.

It was after they scored but got shut down quite quickly. The teams effort at getting back into the match saw to that.
That was the only chant that was unacceptable though…

Their fans were rubbish all night. A bit after they scored but went quiet biting their nails for last 10 minutes.

Blackpool taken from their forum:

0-1. Scabby goal - but we've gotta win more of the 50/50 tussles.

Sorry but Kenny Dougall has had an abhoration there. Goal is down to him alone.

Could Gary Birtles be ANY more biased towards Forest? He's now saying all you can hear is Forest fans singing. That's because he's sat next to them. Prick.

To add..every set piece we have, we should be given a pen. They just rugby tackle us.

Forest are managing this poor ref very well.

They're very physical but go down easily at the slightest touch.

This forest team have moved the ball quickly and played well, but they'd struggle in the Premier where proper refs and VAR would have penalised them every time.

Forest have targeted our weaknesses (E.g. playing out from the back) and closed down our main threats (E.g. two players on Bowler). They’ve done a proper number on us.

We're being served a reminder today about what's required if we want to be serious contenders. No complaints here.. At least it should quell the garbage spouted about a playoff push.

Clear pen for us!!!

How is the ref missing these fouls?

I'm not sure ref thinks this is a Rugby League match. He's given nowt for either team.

Not often this season we can say we’ve been outplayed AND outworked. Poor performance, but at least it’s been a rarity. Forest looking quality play-off contenders.

Bit of a footballing lesson really, getting beat by a really decent team tbf…

It's not Birtles, it's Don Goodman.

My youngest wants to know why the Forest Keeper is wearing pyjamas.

0-2. We're getting murdered here.

Great finish tbf.

Totally deserved scoreline.

Difference between the teams is they get chances and score. We simply don't take enough of our chances.

Balls. That Spence is ripping us apart on the right.

Decent goal that. Undeserved scoreline. Still time.

0-3. Ridiculous goal. Grimshaw was warned before.

This is fucking embarrassing.

Having seen forest on tv in cup other week not suprised by this at all. We have done well this season but no where near enough for top 6.

We’re a lot better than this performance, which has been poor. The opposition have been more intense from the first whistle and we’ve not responded.

We've created next to nothing. Our passing is woeful. We're toothless, it's as easy as it comes for Forest. Huffing and puffing won't win games.

Embarrassing first half, we look awful - can't pass or cross accurately. They've better players and are a better team.

Personally 3 is harsh. First was unfortunate, second a decent finish, 3 a mistake (unusual for Grimshaw). That said we've not created much.

How can the referee not see what’s happening to Madine!

How much is McKenna going to get away with?

Though Forest are the better team I don't think the performance has been as bad as some are saying. We've been under this kind of pressure in other games and came out on top.

I don't think it's been that bad. Forest only had 2 shots on target and 3 nil up. First goal a miss hit going 5 meters wide and deflects in. 2nd a cross blocked, could have gone anywhere and a load of Blackpool shirts and it falls perfectly to their only player near by, and 3rd our error and then a lucky ricochet. Got to admit 2 classy finishes though. The Forest right back looks world class, why did Boro loan him to a rival.

We've been well beaten by the better team, notwithstanding a couple of 'lucky' goals.

It's disappointing that we haven't done something about being overrun in midfield.

Forest by far the superior team.

1-4. The comeback starts now.

They could even afford to give Moeen Ali a game.

I suppose the Bowler V Johnson debate has been settled and shows why he’s worth what he’s worth.

II love the one about being able to afford to give Moeen Ali a game. Naughty I suppose but priceless. Just hope that Lewis would be forced to chuckle.

Only just been able to bring myself to read Scouse comments.

Firstly  their fans were utterly crap.

Secondly (and not entering the debate) there are plenty of Forest fans who were at Hillsborough who have the utmost sympathy for the 96 (now 97) innocent victims, but believe that as well as incompetent policing and  a dodgy ground  the numerous ticketless Scousers who turned up also contributed in small part  but this has now been airbrushed out. The chant I heard in A block - sung by people of ALL ages- was "Its never your fault, always the victims but never your fault".

That's the most controversial song I heard at ground.

In pub  some youngsters were trying to sing "97...it should have been more"  which was shut down by us old Boys sharpish.

Not very classy though.

Sniff. Can you 'pep' this thread up a bit? Been a while and some tough games since we saw opposing Fans reactions. At this time in particular given our winning streak and push; I enjoy reading their agonies.....although sometimes.... the compliments too.

Keep up your good work on getting this Intel. We appreciate it.

Here is Coventry during the match and post match. I will do Birmingham later.

Their goalkeeper looks lively.

He's a dick.

Got Forest coms on, be lucky if no one gets killed tonight if you listen to these fannies.

Love the City Ground, that's a proper stadium.

That’s awful refereeing there. The advantage should have been played as Allen was clean through on the left.

They’re not at the races so far.

That is absolutely horrific defending.

Every fucking game we cause our own fucking problems.

Forest have been utterly shocking. Seriously terrible.

Well on top and concede.

we would never score that. As would over complicate things.
Simple ball behind and a cross

Ffs, everyone got sucked over to our left shit scared of Spence, left the whole of our right exposed 3v1 against kane.

Could arguably be 3-1 here. Gyokeres dragged wide, Allen pass back to keeper and o hare trying to lob and putting out into the notts County stadium.

If we only had the financial means to compete fairly with Forest..lord knows what their wages bill is...many multiples of ours i would guess.

Time wasting started already. Of course.

Perfect for a Sky wank fest over their mutant manager.

Their theatrics are an absolute embarrassment.

We look very susceptible at corners and Cooper is amongst the ugliest people I have ever seen.

As a team we are playing really well. Forest won't believe they're in front.

We were class until the goal. Best we’d played since sheff United.

I have to say that either this forest side is probably a bit over rated or we have stopped them playing.

They looked superb first half against Blackpool, on that showing I was worried, very worried.

What a good player Davis is for them btw, that's the difference isn't it? They add players of his standard while our squad overall was weakened in January..

Dabo has absolutely pocketed spence. He’s done really well.

Come on cov, let's not end our season now. These are there for the taking.

The time they take for each throw in is ridiculous.

And that's that , better side for the most part , but lacking that bit of quality that takes you to the next level.

That's how you finish. Take note.

You just have to laugh. We make scoring look like an impossible task while the opposition make it look effortless.

That Garner is quality to be fair. A lot of United fans want him in their first team next year

we are nowhere near the better side they are much stronger and our defence is vulnerable every time they move forward

Yeah, it has to be said that Forest have got half a dozen or so players who are arguably better than this level.

Being able to bring Joe Lolley, Lewis Grabben and Sam Surridge off the bench. Wow.

Tbh forest and us are pretty much level in quality all the way up until the opposite goal, where they can score and we can't.

Best team won. We aren't ready. Don't get all fucking sappy about it. Their bench would make our first team.

Played alright but beat by a better side whomare miles ahead of us in terms of progression.

we looked like a newly promoted team against an experienced team - we are regressing.

We're not regressing. Forest are progressing. Let's not use that as a barometer of our season.

No surprise tonight Forest are the form team in the division and I think have a good chance of catching Bournemouth.

There is one team who usually comes from the middle of the pack to get in the play offs. That is often the team that wins the play offs because of the momentum they have as the team in form. I think we may have played that side last night.
