It's like a 10,000M runner waiting to make his charge and sprint away with 200M remaining.

To be honest did any of us expect to be so close after our start to the season? Just nice to be battling at the right end of the table come the end of the season run in. We have got a tough run in now so will becgin to see where we really are in terms of squad ability.

That top 6 will look different on the last game of the season to what it looks like today. That's not to say we'll be in it but it will look different.
I think we are suffering a little of late. I think we'll win on Sat, hopefully this will steady a few nerves and set us on our win. The Blunts game is a big one, but then again aren't they all big now??

Yes they are all big games. That's why I was disappointed with the home draw with Stoke. Dropping points at home, for a side who need to make up ground, is just not going to cut it. After two average performances Cooper needs to dig deep and drag something extra out of the lads. He did it against us for Swansea, I'm sure that experience will be invaluable to him.

Pap, agreed with what you say. Few changes maybe required to freshen things up on Saturday and give the opposition a different headache as most teams seemed to have sussed us! SC need to modify his game plans over the coming weeks to get us back into contention.

To be honest making the top six was always going to be a long shot. Losing Grabban was always going to be difficult. I think if he was playing against Preston he would have scored from that last chance created by Spence. We don’t have an abundance of goal scorers and that loss is probably going to make the difference in not getting into top six.

I know and agree, its great to be in with a shout considering where we were after 7 games.
I guess like others Im just a bit desperate for it to succeed this year with the current team. We have some exciting players that we know are good enough to step up next season and who probably wont be with us if we dont go up. We will of course replace them but who knows what level the replacements will be at. It will probably be a slow build, just think there is such a good chance now and would be so frustrating to come up a bit short.

I'll be happy regardless we're we finish.. anywhere above 12th is a massive achievement considering our start, all about a building process, bonus if we finish play offs.. Will be a battle. Hope we're up for it. The one thing I'm buzzing about the most. Is cooper has brought the love back, the socials have gone from a dark depressing place to a place of joy, I mean come on, people are even sneaking speakers into games... its unheard of ha

The real race for the play-offs start after the international break when there are 9 games left for us - 5 at home and 4 away. Yes there are some tough games but we are capable of picking up a lot of points then and it would be good to finish with a flourish and go into the play-offs on a good run.

We've still only lost once this year in all competitions, worth some perspective. The drop off in performances in the last two games is disappointing but every team goes through spells of dropping form. Lets hope we can get out of it this weekend in a very winnable.
If we're still within 6 by the end of the March Internationals we've done very well. After this weekend, it's Sheff U, Reading, QPR, Fulham. No pressure... |
