Also their manager is someone we were interested in, he previously worked in the USA and was known to Dane and he also led Serbia to the under 20 World Cup Final which they won, something very similar to Steve Cooper.
To be honest I am a bit shocked by Reading because I think their players and their manager are much better than the crap what they are currently serving up.
It all seemed to go tits up for them after they got that 6 point deduction for some reason.

Has that much been changed?
It was announced that there would be a Covid allowance around the time that it was announced that years three and four (19/20 & 20/21) of the P & S would be averaged out when it came to calculating compliance.
Yesterdays announcement put a value (5m) on the allowance for both of those seasons.
It also put a value (2.5m) on this seasons allowance which is quite generous considering there has been little or no disruption.
The allowances certainly favour the smaller clubs; a 5m allowance for a club with a turnover of 12 to 15m is much better than 5m for a club with a 25 to 30m turnover like us
The other new news in yesterdays announcement confirmed that all clubs had agreed to use straight line amortisation from now on; surely that means the EFL had no case against Derby.
Their fans are fuming about it! I think the EFL was just clarifying the rule rather than changing it. However you can understand the frustration that they were punished for something that appears to have been technically legal (albeit clearly against the spirit of the rules)

The difference is that the clubs in trouble did the right thing in either suggesting they may have to take a points deduction on the chin, or went to the other clubs to discuss it via the EFL. They didn't decide to deceive their way out of it.

Perfectly true, however, there is not a chance in hell that the EFL would have dared attempt to levy a points deduction had they not gone into Admin.
The EFL had already had their fingers burnt with the Ground sale; they had little appetite for taking their chances at another tribunal, particularly with such an ambiguous issue.
The administrators rolled over for them and agreed to the punishment; and given the EFL having the sole decision making powers when it comes to granting fit and proper accreditation, there is no chance of the deduction being appealed in the future.

Udders beating Fulham. Blimey, despite no one really taking them seriously, they seem to be sustaining their form.

Tbf despite technically not breaking the rules (apart from the amortisation policy) they did do everything possible to abuse the spirit of the rules. The sentiment about parachute payments is correct but there's no denying the pushed as hard as possible to find ways around the rules. Not every club owns their stadium too and so can't do that. Plus its definitely hindered their sale

Stoke also drop points at home…Hull hold on… loads of teams still in this - all the way down to Bristol at a push! 6 points from our next two would be huge

After zero points for us this weekend, the games played situation has more or less sorted itself out without too much damage. Sheff U were always a danger.
No real point worrying about other teams results too much (except Sheep,) as we have to play a number of teams around us at their places. (And a few well above us) Got to do what we did at Blackburn as well as win some ,"winnable," home games and the rest should look after itself.
