In line with normal matchday protocols I have this morning donned my lucky pants. If the game's pushed back I obviously have a problem. I have a number of options:

1) Remove the part worn pants immediately news breaks that the game's moved, put them back in my drawer and put them on again tomorrow;
2) Wear the pants all day and put them on again tomorrow;
3) Wear the pants today and do an emergency laundry run tonight so that they're clean and dry for tomorrow;
4) Take the gung-ho approach and wear normal (possibly unlucky) pants tomorrow.

What a dilemma. Please help. Any advice welcome.

Does your other half have any lucky pants you could borrow?

If so, problem solved.

And you can be sure that not one of us on here would ever mention this at any point in the future.

With a greater emphasis on sports science I wonder how physically prepared the players will be if the match is played tomorrow?

I would guess the training, eating and sleeping regime all week has been geared to 7.45 tonight.

Training 100% would be the biggest issue.

Also the detriment is 1 day less rest for Preston game on Tuesday, following a long journey back and then a long journey to Preston

Option 2 no brainer. Anything but option 4 though, jeez. Do you want us to lose?!
Every team has a home, and an away kit, so obviously you need to pop out and buy your new lucky away pants, As long as they match the teams away kit: problem solved.

My wife made a similar comment, just designate another pair of pants to be lucky. I had to point out that any old pair of pants just cant become lucky, they have to earn the right to be considered lucky. IIRC these pants were ordained after a win against the sheep. Might have been as far back as the Ben Osborn winner, Pride Park game.
