Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager
It's nice that other teams are paying attention to us it shows that we are doing something right and that we are on the up. Even if we don't go up I can see Cooper wanting to stay here and give it a good go next season.

Agree Camms, that is the most likely scenario. But if we don't achieve promotion next season he will be gone.

Think Cooper only signed a 2 year contract if I remember well (not 100% sure) so if that is the case then we should perhaps start thinking of extending it.

I would normally say that's been the kiss of death for Forest, resulting in big payouts when the inevitable sack follows not long later, but this feels different.

The only way I see him being attracted to a club like Southampton is if we agonisingly miss out on playoffs or lose controversially in them. A well timed phone call might pick him up off the floor. It's how Cloughie got Peter Taylor from Brighton.

We should be moving heaven and earth to tie him to a new contract in the summer.

Didnt we say the exact same thing about Sabri? We all celebrated when he finally signed an extension, that went well.

True SM but Sabri is not Steve Cooper.

I did not personally SM. I was never one that fell in love with sabri, although we were marginally winning games the style of it was awful. I was one of those that got battered on the forum for expressing my thoughts on Sabri at the time.

Steve Cooper a totally different animal. I could not be happier with him and everything he brings.

I know its different with Cooper. Crucially it is different behind the scenes too, i was just being controversial.

The fact remains should we hit a bad run of form, then the goodwill towards Cooper will dry up as quickly as it did for his predecessors, thats the way it goes unfortunately.

Coopers football is in my opinion like cloughies late eighties side. Full of youth and energy with a couple of experienced players in there. Fast on the transition and counter attack and solid in defence - soaking up pressure like a sponge.

I get Swansea fans now who have been used to percentage possession football and their perception of cooper- but cooper fits with the forest traditions.

He speaks with real authority too.

His contacts in the game - with academies will be so useful next year. I can see us getting 3 or 4 elite loans in and signing some u25s who need a kick start if we don’t go up. He knows what he is doing.

My only slight worry is the odjeda, laryea signings as I would have expected more appearances from them - not his signings?

Anyone think that Steve seemed a bit downbeat yesterday or is it only me he was probably just disappointed with the performance and result which is understandable.

Given the madness of the last few weeks my guess is perhaps everyone is just overwhelmed - massive re-adjustment needed, a lot of work ahead. Im guessing you could add disappointment in there also.
