Nottingham Forest - Barnsley
We did indeed, he didnt have much of a chance to get involved but good experience for him.

I am going to stick up for silva here…
He has played very limited minutes but hit the post 3 times.
I think he has got some potential and could be a rough diamond to polish - his run for his miss was great and he also wins his fair share of flick ons against much bigger defenders.
These are the sort of signings Brentford have made millions from.
A bit of time - coaching and drip feeding into the first team and who knows?

Having gone last night I had to feel a bit for Barnsley. They actually try and play football and had some decent moves and possession in between both boxes. Their number 17 was a great little play maker. However, they were so weak physically in the centre spine and on transition we looked like scoring every time.

Had to laugh at one of the Barnsley coaches being more concerned with having a nice chat with fans than coaching his team…

:V:

I don't.

We're long overdue a brace over them.  These are the kind of games we conspired to lose in the past.

SA.

That's hardly Barnsleys fault though. That's down to us playing badly against them almost every time in the past. Lets face it, we didn't play that well against them last night if we're being honest.

I'll never feel sorry for a club who's set of fans are still stuck in 1984.

Used to be a bit of a bogey side for Forest.

But not this season. :)

After reading their comments I've warmed to them a bit more than before. Some top drawer gallows humour.

Yates! What a player he is becoming. The real heart beat of the team. Passion.

"ELECTRIC AWAY FANS AS FOREST DEMOLISH BARNSLEY!" (YouTube.)

Some genuine gallows humour had me wiping a tear (funny...) from my eye.

The pretend goal celebrations were a new one on me. ('What are they are they doing?')

'You're nothing special, we lose every week.'

'It's only 0-0.'

Banker hand waves a plenty.

Fans laughing when their own players lose the ball.

'It's going wide, It's going wide, etc. Yaaaayyy....' (Cheering. When they got a free kick.)

'We've had a shot...'

'We've got the ball...'

'We beeping s***...(repeat!)

'Scab...' (chants. Aren't they a bit young to be chanting that?)

Fair play to the correspondent. (He had a measured response considering Barnie's predicament. They've done a Forest, dropped away from play off contention one season to relegation contenders the next.)

And the Forest fan who typed this.

"Massive respect for sticking by your club through the tough times! We were there not too long ago.. all the best!"

True.
