Potentially a massive problem for us in boxing day v Boro.
Tutu injured maybe, Lowe still out, Spence not eligible, and Drager is away in the arab cup. So we maybe have no senior full backs apart from Bong. We might get Colback at LB and Bong at RB maybe if he can play there. Or maybe look at young Back. Boro will be pressing their wing backs forward so imo we need deecnt defenders rather than say Lolley playing a wing back role. Big problem. It might be better if the game was called off.

Is Spence not eligible for the Middlesbrough game? I thought that wasn’t possible for season long loans.

He got some physical treatment again in his short time on the pitch. Its clealry been decided by opponents that if you physically intimidate him he fades. The lad must be covered in bruises when he comes off the pitch. He did well for us 2nd half, so well done to him. Hope he recovers quickly.

A loan out may help him deal with the physical treatment maybe? But we cant afford to lose him this season imo.

Loan players can play against the parent club with but only with written permission from them. I think we can take that as a No.
As for the dilemma we can hope Tutu is back, looked like his ankle which took a knock so not the injury that previously kept him out? Thought he looked decent going forward while he was on , good turn of pace. However a bit of a liability defensively but that was maybe because he was already struggling with the injury.

Thats good to hear NE. And if Tutu recovers then we might just scrape through. You cant fault Colback's commitment at LB but he's definately stand in material when he goes there. We lose attacking impetus on the left side and miss his influence in the middle as a double whammy.

Thought Colback was excellent 2nd half as LB actually. I was worried when he picked up his usual pointless yellow first half (he is so braindead at times it drives me mad) but he put in a pretty faultless display from that moment. Obviously he works a lot better in a flat 4 than as a wing back and I agree we do lose some threat down the left.

Colback is ok as a defensive LB but we lost all attacking threat on the left side with him there. Hopefully Tutu is back, he got a kick in the rear of the leg and sort of twisted his ankle......so should be ok.
Drager, if he is back and fit, should go to Right Back.
Very good performance first half.
Carv came on at a time when it was more "long ball" and its never going to work, as we have seen with Zinc as well, when the ball is floating over their hands and not on the grass.
Spence is going to be a really big miss against Boro in an attacking sense.........but he does have "moments" when he lets their wingers through, so we might be more defensively astute with him not playing........... the key thing will be to get a goal and take the lead and then we might win, else I think a draw is on the cards against Boro.
Special mention to Yates.......he looks really effective as the central ball playing defender, kind of sweeperish role.........I think he will keep Figs on the bench when we play 3 at the back now, with Colback and Garner and Briaan all fit.
