Posh, The Aftermath........

Poor second half. I thought by missing out on a ticket I might watch a better Posh performance from home but it all fizzled out in the second half. We have Millwall's fans to look forward to next Saturday...

Thought Dembele was very poor today.

Yep. To be fair it looked a chilly day in Nottingham.

"Ffs. Thought we had a shout for a pen and they break away :Nono: undeserved but we really don’t look like scoring"

It would have been very soft.  What the f**k knight thought he was doing playing at centre back in a back 4 and goes awol in open play, your a f*****g centre half stay in position and f*****g defend

His first priority is to keep a clean sheet.  No wonder he's never nailed down a position in a team hes obviously confused as whether hes a defender or midfielder

We need goal scorers. None of this bunch could hit a barn door.

Wrong subs at the wrong time but nothing new there
I dissagree they were on top having all the possession we needed extra man in midfield and fresh legs to get back control of the game.

Thats what happens with the diamond you cant control a game for 90 minutes as the other team usually figure it out. Weve seen it time and time before as posh fans.

Id question the ref today he didnt book a forest player till the 80th minute despite all there fouls and cheating  and surrounding the ref.

That was a blattent dive by there player in 1st half and ref gave them a free kick in front of 4th official.

Their players are a right bunch of cheating bastards appealing for everything then diving and cheating themselves.

We should have taken our chances in the 1st half and early in 2nd half. If youre so f*****g toothless up front adventually the other team will take 1 of there chances.

The 2nd goal the player who chested it was clearly pulling taylors shirt off him, a blattent foul.

Dembele’s miss was the key turning point (how the f**k didn’t he score) if that had gone in they would have folded. Edwards MoM, JCH a passenger, contributed nothing. Cannot see how we will not be relegated, plenty of good approach play but no cutting edge and powder puff strikers.

I had to cancel going at the last minute and, aside from missing out on the usual company in a few good looking pubs, I'm not sure I'm upset by that. I'm pleased it wasn't the thrashing I predicted but it was all so inevitable. It looks like I will miss 2 or 3 home games over the next few weeks as well and I'm struggling to be bothered about that as well.

Excellent 1st half, ok until they scored 1, then collapse.

Thought it was a decent game. They might aswell relax now, we are down. Thought Forest were on a par with Barnsley.

28,308 in total. 2,000 POSH with a tricky journey home on a cold and wet night.

Tbh we’re pretty fkin boring away and there’s a fair few travelled and the side are bloody luck they don’t Kop more stick

Facts are recruitment was turd poor and extending some contracts were ridiculous. L1 quickly looks unless those in charge realise we’ve got it wrong simple as that

Another poor performance away from home

To be fair I’m pretty pleased and smug that I never gave over a whole day to go and watch that. Sure it was a decent first half effort from Posh, but really, Forest were very average to poor. We don’t need an awful lot of new bodies to compete and beat some of these Championship sides.

Positives were not miles adrift
Reality we could easily lose every game we’re that poor between now and Xmas

This is the key thing.

If we can get to Christmas within six of safety and make the right signings, then precisely because we tend to have more of the ball than our opponents, I think we could make up that gap.

We aren’t getting pasted in games. We are not being played off the park. Our players are technically as good as our opponents. We just lack a cutting edge and creativity (and need to stop conceding shocking set piece goals).

Where we find it I don’t know. But that’s the difficult job in January.

Hull were adrift six weeks back or so. They’ve turned it round despite their fans’ cynicism. We have to believe we can do the same.

We never really look like scoring, which is a bit of a problem in football. And the moment we go down in a match, we never look like getting back into it. And our defensive lapses are appalling.

I’m bloody gloomy tonight.

That was just more of the same…better than Blackburn but nowhere near good enough in the final third. It’s getting a bit tedious watching pretty mediocre teams celebrating late winners as if they’ve won the World Cup.

Without an effective striker for this level we’re f****d - possession is valueless if it doesn’t lead to a decent attack and, generally, the final ball into the box was poor. Not criticising the effort from the likes of JCH…they’re just not good enough.

Our set pieces continue to be atrocious- maybe someone other than JCH could have a go at a free kick - I’m getting fed up seeing him blast the ball into the wall. Mate, it ain’t working.

Hard to see where our next point is coming from. Going down.

I predicted 2-0 and sadly for a change I was right.

This is getting embarrassing now and I really cannot see where or when we will get a win. Not scoring as the weeks go on tells the whole story.

We are going down without a doubt.

Not long been home. Still fuming. Dominated a poor opposition on its own patch abut never made chances. Poor passes when attacking ruined our day. One proper chance that If Siriki had buried it we would have won. Then we go and make poor mistakes in our own area and let a powder puff attack score not one poxy goal but two of the bastards.

Those at the top of our club must stop talking from its asses and telling us this squad is good enough because it simply is not. JCH is far too slow at this level and has not looked good in a single championship game. And his free kick taking is now poor.
Siriki did not really shine but I like him and accept some off days. We need some pace and someone who can hold it up front like JCH did last year and Ivan did the year before. Too may very fast and first touch passes went awry.
Ref was won over by cheating redshirts falling over when left with no options. And the keeper was a disgrace. Should have been booked for complaining at the handball on the edge of the box and the time wasting should have been a red

We had been doing some serious time wasting at 0-0, and they probably should have had at least one penalty from three Posh hand balls in the box. We were also the right side of two borderline yellow/red decisions.

I'm not sure we're in any position to be complaining about the referee.

Wow! I thought some of our supporters are deluded. They have just come out of L1 and are a genuinely small club, yet seem to think they should be pi$$ing this division. Really?

I thought they looked OK (#2 was very good at back) in 1st half when we were clearly miles off the pace, 2nd half we turned them over without getting into 3rd gear.

Where I have to concede they may have a point is some of the diving, it makes me wonder if that's why we miss out on so many pens and boils my pi$$. Any little touch on the back and some of our lads go down like they've been charged into by one of the Vunipola brothers. A few times, we were saying, just stay on your feet and play. But ref blew up every time in nowhere land  but missed the clear handball.

Modern football I suppose- still gets on my t1ts though.....

Yeah.  When Forest turned up 2nd half and shifted gears, Posh couldn't handle it.

And Forest weren't at their best either.

I get what you're saying about modern football.  It drives me through the roof.  (eg. Yates was clearly held with two arms around him in the penalty area before he shook himself free for the goal.  If he didn't get that goal, the ref would have to call up for a penalty as he was clearly being held/wrestled and impeded.  Drives me nuts.)

It’s the knots of Forest, the cooper in a stupor with his knots in his hanky, a tatey potatey, no golf buggie but knots in his frowning. The wheel spins round it’s the battle of the managers who manage different teams, it’s time for the swans to rise, or Notts.

All the fans of hoofbal will give Cooper a rapturous welcome.

3-1

We have the upper hand, despite Cooper's remarkable unwavering upward momentum.

We have a nucleus of senior players who can outsmart Cooper, they know his every move, most especially our captain, talisman and Martin's chosen leader, Grimesy.

However Martin's ego will be looking to make a statement against a predecessor with both a far superior winning heritage, and in-term performance creds.

Big big test for Martin. Will he :

A. Stick with his Losing Plan A :
- high possession across our back 4/5/6; minimal possession in the red zone; minimal shots on target; multiple CMs forced to lie deep to allow our aged libero to drive fwd to save the day; minimal excitement and go fwd, with even the happy clappers leaving early; OR:

B. Revert to The Winning Plan B :
- and incorporate more pace, more go-fwd, push our captain and leader up into the pressure zone to leverage his dynamism, heads-up intelligence, determination and natural symbiosis with our clever front line; Smith anchoring Grimesy and Ntcham; reintegrate Bidders; give Oba a proper run out and unleash his pace; ditch Cullhim from the bench and reintegrate hat trick hero Whittaker

Plan B should be more than enough to win this.

Let's hope Martin doesn't meddle, and allow the senior players to play pure Plan B without immature interventions with Subs esp; allow the senior players to wrest the EI initiative from the off, with proper Hwyl and inner belief.

It'll be lonely this Christmas

And it’s turned cold!!!

I agree, play the right way and no reason why we can’t win.

Cooper not been able to make a signing yet so very much working with Houghton's squad, although he has shown some incredible form since arriving, you would think their form has to dip at some point.

Start doing the same short at all costs game though and they will probably punish us. Need to try and keep Garner quiet and keep the service away from Grabban.

Need an early goal to bring Forest out

If SC is true to form we will struggle to score and they will wait for a mistake

Hope I'm wrong

Forest's recent form is better than ours (7th versus 15th) although over the season to date there's little between us. I reckon a score draw is the most likely outcome.

Forest are top of the Away form league.

3 wins followed by 3 draws.

We are 4th in the home form league. 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.

First goal wins it.

I wonder what reception Steve Cooper and Alan Tate will have on Saturday ?

Hopefully a warm one, I have nothing but respect for both individuals

Cooper has been lucky and inherited some pace and hasn't had a chance to sell them yet. That Johnson bloke and the full back on the right are bloody rapid. The thought of Williams being picked or, if they move to their left and target that instead...Bennett, is bloody scary. They can wang it into the channels all day..or just play it out after dispossessing Grimes...or Smith can just pass it to them.

My confidence is waning. The wingnuts will be thrilled if we lose.

The wingnuts are on the other site, Vetchonian who was dubious at the start and Perch, who let's face it, hated every manager including Martinez when we romped league one, but he did have a soft spot for Brendan, but he had a grudge over Laudrup FFS an all, he's against the grain no matter what, he's a weird tw*t

Unusually for me, I'm feeling confident. Normally I don't expect us to score many goals but this time I'm going for 3-0 to us.

Cooper will be playing safety first and hit us on the break, but we'll be a goal ahead at half time and score another 2 in the second half as our 72% possession takes its toll.

3-0?.. Cooper's whole setup relies on pure luck or a shocking referee decision.. God takes pity on the unfortunate tw*t.. how many times did Ayew or a shocking refs call help him out?.. his set piece defending was ok, that's the only strength of a rigid system over substance

Cooper seems to be the person they're holding responsible for their decline in fortunes.

3-1 to the mighty Swans.

But only if the senior players, led by our astute leader Grimesy, are given carte blanche to revert to Plan B, our winning formula.

Plan A, and we'll lose, possibly heavily.
Plan B and it's a level playing field, a proper battle of proper, winning football. And we could nick it with Piroe's class.

And even if Martin sets us up in his comfort zone of Plan A, I reckon our senior players will be looking to outsmart Coops and will take the initiative as they so often do when they revert ironically to effective, efficient proper winning football.

Now if you're going to do that, you have to explain exactly what you see as Plan A and Plan B. What are the differences between the two?

Otherwise you're just setting yourself up to be 'right' no matter the result. We lose or a bore draw and it's because we stuck to your idea of Plan A. Win and it's because we employed whatever Plan B is in your eyes. Putting out a vague argument about undefined plans just to be 'right' whatever happens in front of a few football fans on the internet would be crazy. Right?

2 massive egos in the technical area, a question of who's brave enough. The clever money will be on a dull 0-0. For me, RM has to go for this, 2 consecutive soft defeats should mean we come out flying, tough one to predict how this'll go. One thing is certain, lose and it'll be a little toxic down there and the honeymoon period will come to a shuddering halt.

Forest have some good players Johnson is quick and tricky , Garner and Grabban will be a threat,

Central defenders Worrall and McKenna are useful

A very tough game .

I do think that Saturday is a very important game for us. We have had lots of attempts on goal in the last 2 games - but only the 2 Reading goals to show..meanwhile we are being crucified for our own defensive lapses - and Cooper is savvy enough to have learnt from the tape.

Important game for the Martin regime - no doubt.

We will do well to avoid losing this one

Defensively they will be very good and all credit to Cooper for making them ( and us, last season ) hard to beat

We need to score first

If they score first it's got a 2-0 away win written all over it

If we score first they'll have to come out

So that probably means they will start fast!

Morning one and all. This game for me is litmus test, to see how we are either moving forwards , standing still or even going backwards, as i and all should know there are NO easy games and this could be one of the harder ones, like us last season they are getting hard to beat so will be interesting to see what team is selected, Mr Cooper and Mr Tate know a lot of who we are going to play so its going to be even more difficult, but whilst having great possession stats its goals that win games ,for me they are the form team and at this moment we are a bit off the pace for what ever reason , a win is not a must but not to lose is.

Am hoping for a win , just hope its not a loss

I am perennially nervous about games against certain teams and Forest is one of them.No reason just years of results and probably a built in pessimism.

I hope for a really positive game from us tomorrow and a win, despite the SC style of play and insight his team have into our players.

Feels like a nail biting afternoon in prospect.

Forest fans seem to have Cooperball down to a tee already, looking at their forum

Fan 1: "0-0, no shots on goal from either team"
Fan 2 Replies: "Surely that'd be 0-1 Forest with their first shot on target after waiting 89 minutes for Swansea to make a mistake?"

Certainly got an 'identity' has Cooper!

Oh, and we're "boring as piss", apparently. They'll be begging to be as boring as us once they're through Cooper's honeymoon phase!

Cooperball has scored more goals than Martinball.

1.46 goals per match under Cooper. We sit at 1.28 under Martin.

1.85 points per match under Cooper. We sit at 1.32 points per match under Martin.

Haven’t checked it’s accuracy but a fan on their site said that under Cooper they are in the top 3 for the form table since he took over.

Unbelievable that the only match he’s lost is against Fulham. Does seem like it’s written for us to be number 2.

Prediction 5-1

They are bring 2K
They will be loud. We need to be louder.
