Apologies, I read it as being a thread to predict where we would finish (which it is).
My CH post was largely in jest and I was mindful that if we get into the realms of CH then it would drift way off topic.
FWIW Hughton couldn’t get the team performing consistently last year when he had decent full backs and his haul this season is largely reflective of his limitations. People can argue otherwise but to ignore last season in the context of those first seven games is a pretty selective viewpoint.
Hughton has gone. He didn't have a striker of his own in a year. The fullbacks he had were flawed and funnily enough, are no longer with us and one of them can't even get in the Fulham team. Last year's mediocre fullbacks, having departed, we started the season without fullbacks (1st five games? Or so?)
We may not have liked his football, but he was hung out to dry. Cooper has had the luxury (ironically) of the fullbacks Hughton should have had but didn't have.
WHERE Forest finish is again, down to the recruitment in January. The best players of Summer's work are all precarious in their position with 'us' and could be called back. (Of the rest of the transfer work, we haven't seen about 5 of them perform. At all. So. A bang average Summer window.)
January will decide where Forest finish this season. Just as the lack of transfer window at the start of the season derailed any kind of positive start to the season. The results, despite that, were close considering the level of opposition were playing ta boot.
The last 5 games. 4 draws and 1 win but? The football is 'better.' But without a LB, Forest have seemed imbalanced due to Cooper having to field a lopsided deck taking his best CM to LB to try and stand by the players who had performed best. But the result was a misfiring side due to two positions being disrupted because Forest didn't sort themselves out in the Summer window.
Hard to get any team to perform consistently if recruitment don't do their job.
