May 2022 Where Will We Finish?
#1
Tree
Steve Cooper has had a tremendous impact and the league table over the last 10 games (after Preston) shows Forest sitting in third place which does make you wonder where we would be if Cooper was in charge from the start of the seaaon.

So come May 2022 where do you realistically think we will finish?

Due to the bad start of the season I think mid table would be acceptable as we have been playing catch up since. All teams have bad periods and we are yet to have one under SC as such. I'm just enjoying this period of we will not go down without a fight and every game we can win mentally.

I hope the lads prove me wrong, but I think we will probably end up in 7th or 8th place come May 2022

Just a few weeks ago you would have had to include relegation in that poll and it would have picked up a fair number of votes including mine. Its a measure of how far we have come that isnt even an option now.

Going for mid table which is still a miracle considering the start we had. Think a lot depends on January, who stays or goes and if there are inevitable departures whether the replacements improve us overall. Of course only a few points separate mid table from playoffs right now, it might just stay that way all season so who knows.

Not convinced that we are good enough for anything other than 10th to 12th but after the first 6+7 games then that is progress. I always felt that we had a mid table squad but were under performing badly under CH. We have improved hugely in terms of points but at the same time, we've played a lot of lower table sides. Looking at CHs first four games and all are currently top 7.

It will be interesting to compare Coopers results when they play return fixture after Christmas.

This. Mid table if Brennan goes. 5th or 6th if he stays. He's such an importatnt part of our offensive game.

Keeping Spence and Lowe injury free too is important although I expect a new left back in January.

Voted for just missing out but after the start we made that would be an achievement.

A lot depends on retaining the fullbacks, Brennan, Worrall from leaving and keeping Grabban free from injury.

...and?

If the worst happens, what provisions for this Forest make in the January window.

...and if they don't leave...

...3-4 signings to allow Forest to stamp some authority on the league.

Given current form, there's no reason why Forest couldn't be higher than Luton or in the top 6 like Coventry.
