May 2022 Where Will We Finish?

I went for play offs but probably my heart is ruling my head as usual.

We are so vulnerable to other clubs picking us off this January. As such we cant predict anything about where we'll finish. If you were sheffield and boro you'd definately be pulling Lowe and Spence for no better reason than to weaken a direct rival. We did it with Adomah at the expense of our player. Thats the way it is. Both clubs will do exactly the same. It also looks like we're in a corner with Brennan and he looks like he'll be gone.

If by a miracle we keep all three then play offs is a realistic goal. Without all three we look at a bit average I think.

Agree Paps but it's not impossible to find adequate replacements. Especially if we sell Brennan and get some serious cash.

Agreed Gari. I think the days of coming out of transfer windows weaker are over.

And I think we should keep in mind that at least Brennan and Spence are young football players with not that much experience playing a tough Championship season to the end. I'm quite certain that both of them will have a period where their performance level will drop significantly. So even if we are able to keep them we will have to have quality back ups.

Is it just me?

Apart from the top two there is nothing in this league.

Look at those teams above us. They are no better than us and are only above us because of Hughton and our crap start.

Only 3 points off 8th.

Second highest number of draws in the top 23.

Great that we have turned losses into draws. Next we need to turn draws into wins

We were worse obviously but we also had harder matches, plus we didn't have Lowe, Spence, Garner, Zinc for the first 5 games or so.

As much as I prefer the setup now and the positive attitude the easier fixtures has been part of the reason too, added in a bit of luck in a few games too!

I think we're a midtable team however with a few improvements in the right places we could be more and we hopefully won't be too far back come Jan 1st. Exciting times compared to how it's been since Covid started anyway

You mean with all the refereeing decisions gone our way

I would imagine that Cooper would have got at least 10 points from those games when Hughton was in charge at the start of the season although of course we will never know for sure.

That 10 points would now see us sitting in third place believe it or not.

Spot on sniffer.
We have a decent run of fixtures now up to the end of the year and a decent return will put us around if not in top 6. A good January and I think we can make the play-offs, injuries and refs willing and then anything can happen.
LB/LWB is going to be the crux of the rest of the season, if we remain strong there and decent back up to Grabban, hold on to your hats.

I think you are right Sniff. We have now played 13 games since CH left and have managed to collect 24 points which is almost auto form.
