Really liked Sabri but his tactics were found out and relied too heavily on Watson whom he didn’t replace. When he was sacked he probably deserved it but performances weren’t too bad and that Bristol match was a travesty we didn’t win.
Hope he gets another job…

He also lost Worrall, Grabban, Cash, Sow, Silva, Lolley to injury or sale.

Samba Sow not managing to stay on the pitch was a major issue imo, as was the fitness of Grabban, really the sole senior striker at the club that year. Lolley broke down too. Too much flogging of dead horses at the end. If we have had clung on to 6th place, we would've been a walkover in the play offs such was our fitness levels at the end. Not Sabri's fault. Really wanted him to stay but the side was broken when he was eventually put out of his misery.
I found that article really refreshing and enjoyable.
It is nice that despite losing his job at the club, he still holds a genuine admiration for the club, the ground, the city and the people both directly connected to the club and the fans. I think the fans, whilst making a point about Sabri's replacement, chose to chant his name rather than someone they wanted to take over the club for example or a club legend (Pearce, Clark, Clough etc) shows that despite the side crumbling at the final hurdle, we knew his intentions were for the best for our club and his heart belonged to Nottingham Forest also Sabri always came over as being a sincere man, if not a little bit humble also, but for him, a foreigner to this country can see, what we the fans know, that we are unique and we are up there amongst the best

It was the few bits of quality breaking down that did for him and possibly the bit of luck that we had going our way early on ran out in those last few games. I dont buy the bit about his tactics being found out. I go back to a quote from DT along the lines of opposing managers marvelling about the way we set up under Sabri. As for the following season think there was a combination of evaporating confidence and a complete mess of a transfer window when the entire squad was needlessly upended.

Who knows what would have happened or what might have been if the season didn't get disrupted by Covid. Unfortunately we will never know.

Let’s be frank, his real downfall was getting screwed in the January transfer window and handed S**t like Da Costa
