It was brave - and he can play a bit but he is slow back to his line. Nearly caught out by Nakhi Wells. Hope it’s only used when chasing a game.
West Brom do it too and can see a couple of goals going in when teams set good enough traps for it.
I’m predicting zink to score like that against the baggies!

Still not sure what Samba did wrong for the goal last night, he wouldn’t have known that shot might just have gone wide, he had to make the save, its not his fault there was no covering defender or that all 3 centre backs conspired to let Wells get a shot away.
The one against Blackpool was possibly more concerning and typical Samba. Did he shout and Spence should have gotten out the way? Or was there no shout which is why Spence acted? I feel he should have been more commanding made the ball his regardless.
Having said that Im not sure what people expect. As with most of our team he has flaws, thats why he isnt playing in the PL. In my opinion our best keeper since DeVries which is a pretty low bar but we have had a few corkers between the sticks since then. Mad Vlad anyone? Not writing Horvarth off but his debut certainly didnt make me want to try him again in a hurry.
Samba will do for me and Cooper has been brought in to improve the squad that includes Danny Alcock the new GK coach. Lets see if they can iron out some of his flaws.

My initial thought last night was that he was late diving but having watched it again today I reckon he was getting over to cover the near post and was adjusting his feet to cover that when the shot was taken early to the far post, thus wrong footing him and making the save turn into a bit of a lunge. I'm going to put it more down to bad defending rather than a keeper error.

As good a keeper as you are likely to get at this level for extended period of time. If he cut out the mistakes completely he'd have been snapped up by a bigger fish.
Early season mind he was not at it.
For comparison look at Bentley last night, one very good season at Brentford, then Brizzle signed him for a big promotion push, due to him being considered one of best keepers in the division. Since that has dropped some clangers, like 2nd goal last night.
Give Samba the love, he's just fine and young for a keeper.

Samba is one of the best keepers in the league and is only likely to get better. To say he was poor early season is fine but to single him out would be unfair as most players were poor.
Mistakes by keepers always stand out more than any other player and the very best keepers make clangers
Over the course of this season he will save us more points than he loses us.

Completely disagree, this thread has been a rational discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of a player.
Lots of fair points made in both directions, not sure why that's embarrassing.
Would be embarrassing to just repeatedly say that the Forest team is amazing and that we should be getting promoted despite no evidence and a vastly inferior budget to some sides.

This thread started when Samba was having a mare almost every week and was costing us at least one goal per game.
His performances have improved of late, mainly as a result of the entire team improving more, but he is still in need of much work. His distribution hasn't been as good this season as it was last for example. Is that as a result of him not having the entire team in our half all of the time now? Who knows.
But it isn't embarrassing to discuss areas where fans feel there is room for improvement, as well as for singing praise when it is warranted.
