Despite the calamity that was the first team I have it on good authority that CH did indeed contribute and was consulted regarding the changes that need to be made and probably why he was given more time. He will never get any credit for that and for me he has himself to blame in how rigid he was in the first team set up. The DOF is indeed well respected by the players but I think he is more player liaison and eyes and ears to others up the food chain. Karanka and O’Neil didn’t like his influence but Sabri embraced it.
The previous managers have all been respected when it has come to which players they want to work with or not hence the bomb squads. That now should change hopefully as I’d guess that has been where waste has been. You are always going to get some players not work out as expected but with the structure in place now those mistakes in theory should be reduced significantly.
I can see us start to rise - the academy have been nothing short of amazing in their step up to CAt1.
I hope this is a new dawn - it’s what many of us have asked for a long time.
True.
The job titles allows fans to see who does what and who is accountable for what they're doing.
Creating a clear structure helps Forest with that 'True North.'
When Forest can eliminate the bottleneck between the Academy and the 1st team, they'll walk this league.

I went to the Forest - Birmingham under 23's match the other day and it was cracking to watch. Some top work going on down at our academy.

Also it was interesting yesterday that even Cooper mentioned something about not paying too much attention to job titles.

They're not rigid absolutes. Of course.
I'm reasonably confident it's a fluid and progressive system. 'Modern' has been used.
Allegedly, Cooper involves players in his considerations of team style/play/set up. (Ie. 'What they think.' Then I'm sure he'll make his own judgement call.)
Ergo, the recruitment team is not down now to a 'manager' (who may get fired a year later leaving collateral financial damage of an unwanted 'squad' by the new 'managers.'). That way, it's collective praise when they get it right but ear ache when the get it wrong.
Though the collegiate approach in the Academy has worked wonders. It's a eureka moment to appoint leadership and recruitment AND a 'coach' to finally remove the bottle neck from the academy to the 1st team. It's a far more cohesive plan that has been set in motion. I've been saying for a while. You get the Academy on the pitch, Forest walk the league. With a team that understands the 'Forest Way' and a coach who is brought in that understands this philosophy and the coach who comes in after ALSO understands this philosophy or doesn't get the job.
So, to have a 'general' idea of 'he's the 'Coach', he's the 'youth integration into 1st teams guy...', he's the 'director of footbal development' (he oversees the academy's philosophy and development of football character and talent', he's the 'CEO', he look after 'brand Forest', the finances, spear heads recruitment and the leadership of the club on and off the field.
And so on.
For fans, having a general idea of who 'generally' does what helps demystify things. Rather than 'Who's this random guy who just rocked up? ' So you know where your £25-30 is going on match day. Fans are stake holders. They invest in 'Brand Forest.' Informal shareholders. They demand accountability from their custodians.
As the recent heat Mr. V took over last year's roundly panned (in hindsight, though) recruitment. As Hughton found out by losing his job. There was no 'verve' and 'style' that Forest fans recognised of their greatest success and their greatest manager.
But you see that u23s game: Forest v Birmingham. It has the hallmarks of 'verve' and 'style.'

Saying, 'I know what you want to hear from the 1st team. I'll be respectful of that. It's great that we're Cat 1. So we should be.' :)
He's interested in 'integrating' the youth talents into the Forest squad.
...and he's already had look at the u12s in training.
Sounds like he's trying to hit the ground running.

Our best coach for me in recent times was Sean o Driscoll and his interview on podcast I saw last night was so insightful. He talked about Lewis mcgugan and his shooting. He showed him and the team videos of him shooting and asked the players to tell him what was acceptable and what was not.
In my opinion we have had managers and not coaches in the hot seat and that model is only sustainable if all believe the man is perfect e.g clough.
Sabri started as a coach and we reaped rewards early on - it’s when he became more involved with recruitment that it went proper tits up (da Costa and diakarby were his picks)
Coopers fist round of interviews has reset the vision.
Now the hard bit but if we show intent at home the crowd will respond. Here is hoping for a new beginning tomorrow- first time I’ve been excited about a match for ages…
