Absolutely mate, I walked away from that stadium feeling proud of what they put in. It was a proper shift and they were dead on there feet.
Let's hope that is the new standard that has been set, if it is we will march up that table pretty quickly. With as you say those extra bodies to be available too.

Jurgen, are you aware that Chris Sutton was born in Nottingham and a massive Forest fan, his favourite player of all time is Robbo! So I am happy to hear his opinion on our current crop of players.

If we stick with 3 4 3 I suppose there is a chance of Carvalho contributing as part of the front 3; he does not have a hope in hell of playing in that middle 4, who were immense yesterday.
Spence was tremendous, my mom by a country mile; Lowe was very good as were Yates and Garner; the manner in which all 4 of them combined to shut down their midfield was fantastic to watch.
In comparison to other games this season, the back three had a relatively easy ride yesterday.
I fancy our chances with 11 outfield players
3 + 4 + 3 = 10

Agree....plus for all the talk of tactics, formations and shackles being removed. Not chucking in soft goals, passing the ball to a Forest player and running your nuts off should be a given regardless of the other stuff.
However we might reflect on it, Sutton does have a point.
In the past now though so let's make sure yesterday wasn't just a flash in the pan and string some wins together....

Probably mistake your 'I' for a '1'.
Interesting point about Car' potentially in this system.
We'll see what 'yet another' Manager (*cough*, COACH) thinks of him real soon.

I don't think anything he said was unfair. He has a point. Though, I think the players did play for Hughton though.
They've won 'a' game for Steve Reid. Not two. Or three. We'll learn more if the new manager comes in and Forest kick on with several results in their favour.
Football is a fickle game. Fortunes rise and fall. And bar the Boro' game, all the games were very close. You just felt that was 'the end.' It's a feeling that the 'end of all managers' seem to carry with them.
Managers can get caught in a trap of their own thinking and making (as we've seen with all previous contenders for the poisoned chalice) and that 'fine margins' that went against Hughton were swung in Forest's favour with a different formation, using squad members differently, (having the fullbacks available, Hughton had his hands tied there), playing a higher press, and instructions to play with that higher tempo, giving the CM's the cushion of 5 defenders helped their game and so on. Looking at Quest today, it seems 3-4-3 is in vogue.
Just the release valve of trying 'something new' can break the circle, a different energy. Steve Reid looked at the data (interesting in itself..) had a couple of games to prepare with the team and boom. It's not the 1st time it has happened in football. We'll soon see if this was a one-off or not.
It's just one game though. I still think Forest are a couple of players short of the picnic. A battle general and a striker. And I wouldn't be surprised for the new manager to bring in some experience in the centre of the park and a striker with younger legs.

Pity we didn’t get an option on Spence as appeared to be the plan.
Having two players in the side with real pace and who are properly ‘ours’ would be a quantum leap forward.
There’s always plenty more fish in the sea but it’s always a shame to have to put back a prize catch and if he continues to impress he’ll end up at Leicester or similar.
