My daughter has been officially named as the new Head Physio for the Grantham Town Academy, my Son made his debut for Notts Police Rugby Club, although he had to come off about a minute after going on due to a nasty looking head injury, I have been asked to attend a walk around second interview for a new job and Derby are facing a potential 24 point deduction. 21 points guaranteed!!!

All we need now is Chris Wilder to be named our new manager (cant see it somehow) and this week will have been totally wonderful!!

:) :shy: :D

Nice one Tricky. Good luck with the interview.

Thanks Alf  :shy:

Is this the appropriate place to mention that we will soon definitely be off the bottom of the table when Derby get their points deduction? ??????

It gets better…. Mandatory 12 point deduction PLUS a separate case still ongoing.
That’s likely 21 points …..
aaah I do like a bit of schadenfreude in the morning

Maybe the administrator will sell us Buchanan in January now…

Schadenfreude.  Isn't that a giant sized German sausage?  *(Bend over, Derby...this won't hurt a bit...)

Forest had to sell Wes and Patrick when they were in trouble £££ wise. And we brought in some players to save our bacon.

Derby had their chance to sell a player to cover some of their debt.  They didn't do so.  Perhaps the administrator will do it for them. They tried to get around FFP by being 'smart.' And banking on 2-3 prospective buyers to bail them out. Looks like the gamble has failed.

Has anyone looked at any Derby ( clears throat and spits out large dockers oyster) forums to see if they are in meltdown? :)

Pretty much sums up the situation SA. Nigel Doughty, similar to Mad Mel, had decided he no longer wished to fund his club, who he'd supported all his life. The massive difference between the two men though was that, as you say, our club generated income for the day to day running from selling players. If i recall correctly, Wes was sold to our east midlands rivals Leicester at a low-ish price. At the time Leicester were of a similar stature to us, in the same league etc. We didnt want to see him go to them and it hurt when he did.

Compare that to Derby's approach, who've just refused 2 or 3 bids for Buchanan from us. Had they accepted that money may have paid another months wages to their staff, or paid a few of their innocent suppliers maybe. Instead now they'll get bugger all. But at least they didn't sell to a rival! It wreaks but it's the type of behaviour that's been typical of that place since their owner took over.

I spent a while on there last night. To be honest, It's been an interesting read for a while now (more schadenfreude from me). Up till last night there were plenty of their fans who were being loyal to Mad Mel, but that seems to have evaporated now. There's the odd poster that thinks this is still a cunning ploy by their glorious owner to beat those terrible people at the EFL who have a vendetta against Derby, but the majority have read his statement last night and realise that he's blaming everyone but himself for this predicament.
