Im liking Wilder's enthusiasm for wanting to be our manager and am coming around to him but i know it would end in acrimony. No way is he going to have his players chosen for him, and no way would he be prepared to start the season with no full backs and keep quiet. And then when the players arrive in the form of a 21 year old Paraguayan he'd hit the roof. He's not for us really.

Cooper seems nailed on, but a safe choice and gives me a sense that history will repeat itself with same style of play, mouthpiece manager etc.
He will have my backing whilst he’s manager but I’m underwhelmed and disappointed.
Feels like treading water again and we shouldn’t be treading water we should be moving forwards.
Wilder, Evatt, Callum Davidson even Keane, Cohen/Reid would be more forward thinking.
Underwhelmed, but he deserves an opportunity to make his mark.

Daniel Taylor obviously know that too. He was telling people yesterday not to put money on Wilder.
If true, surely the important question here would be how many other candidates have been to Greece or if he was the only one.

Yep, be interesting to know.
Im actually reassured that the candidate(s) is being asked to go to Greece. It suggests that the owner is still actively engaged in our fortunes.

I didn't see anybody at the Olympiakos - Antwerp match last night. You would have though that they would have been a guest at the match like me :)

It looks likely to be Cooper, but I'd take Wilder over him all day long.
Other than the fact he took Sheff U from League 1 to the Prem in 4 years, the reasons I think he's the stand-out candidate is:
1) He got Sheff U all pulling in the same direction from the youth setups, through the mid-squads, to the top.
2) He's already successfully managed in League 1 should we go down, the Prem if by some miracle we ever go up.
3) He plays good football.
4) He's used to using 3 CB's. Probably our strongest area currently.
5) He's a big fan of the Forest academy, and will undoubtable already know some of the players there. I'd say his ethos (attitude first) falls in line with Brazil's, so that'd work a treat too.
6) He's not a fashionable manager, so if/when we start doing well we're not likely gonna have big clubs come knocking.
7) He's an appointment that would get fans back on side and lift spirits.
Not saying Cooper can't do a job, but I think Wilder is such a good fit for this club.
Don't worry, I know it won't happen. The more I think about Cooper as an appointment, the more I fear he'll be sacked as "Hughton MK2" in a few months. Time will tell.

After all the obvious changes with player recruitment, I would be very surprised if we went for a manager from these shores to be honest. Just looking at Barnsley's manager recruitment, surely we're going to go down similar pathways to that?
