I've seen a different side to Taylor this season after writing him off last season. I really think he could be OK for us medium term, given the right service. A run of games and him being picked ahead of Grabban might just be all he needs to get some confidence and a bit of momentum.

Can we just briefly discuss the fact that yet again we conceded a goal due to a keeper error? I'm not saying that's the reason we lost but there have been a lot of mistakes so far that have cost us goals this season.

Worrall's defending on that second goal was pretty poor too.

I agree with this, be nice for him to actually get a few chances in the penalty area at some point.

It must be a joy for teams playing against Forest these days. Just press hard when Forest are trying to build up an attack and they will start playing the long ball. As Forest have no players that can win the long ball it will be easy to win it back.

This happens every single game but I don't believe CH is instructing the team to play like that. It would be madness to deliberately play the long ball against Cardiff with Taylor and Grabban on top. To me it seems like CH is not trying to solve this tactical challenge presented to him but rather wait for better players to be available. I'm not so sure that will work.

It's very difficult to see any type of progress. As I said above if you start playing the long ball against Cardiff you are doomed to fail and it's not like we don't have the players to really play football. I believe we have a good squad. Team movement and cooperation seem for the most part to be lacking and that is the manager's responsibility. Currently it is very difficult to see that any drastic changes would happen on the field. We won't get relegated but progress will be minimal at best. As you know I tend to try to stay positive but with CH I find it more and more difficult to see where Forest as a team are heading.

I agree with this, be nice for him to actually get a few chances in the penalty area at some point.

It's funny how we all see the game differently. I thought Taylor and Grabban did well with the long balls. No striker is every going to win the majority of long balls v Flint & Morrison but what we did do was put those two giants under pressure and won the 2nd balls. Well, in the first half anyway. 2nd half Taylor lost his edge and energy and reverted to his usual falling over and complaining.

I read somewhere that Forest had 58 long balls played and won 22% and in the game I watched we won few second balls  :D

We wont get promoted until we get a centre forward who is able to compete with the physique of today's defenders. I've been saying for a long time that we have to be capable of winning offensive headers. We haven't done that for a very long time. Right now crossing the ball is almost pointless as there is virtually no chance that we will convert them into chances or goals. I argued for Moore to be bought when he was available but the argument was dismissed because he didn't have the talent. Nonsense. Most championship sides will know that we can be out muscled and scared into submission with simple,direct football. I expect relegation.

If Forest continue to play the long ball then I agree with you that we need a CF that can win headers but if we should start playing the ball on the ground then heading ability is not so important.

I thought Taylor was dreadful yesterday. He couldn't hold the ball up at all irrespective if it was played to his feet or in the air. We constantly gave possession away playing it long which kept us under pressure and it was inevitable we were going to crack with the number of big players they could get into the box for throw ins and set pieces. They hit the woodwork twice. The scoreline could have been much worse.

During the Clough years although he talked of pure football played on the ground he was well aware that we had to be strong in the air both upfront and at the back. Lee Chapman and Peter Withe both, in their time, provided the power for the brilliant Robertson to target. When we were struggling during the early days of his reign he bought in Barry Butlin and Neil Martin. Neither were exceptional on the ground but both were fighters, goal scorers who definitely were not bullied. My point is that strength, power and nastiness has to be part of the winning formula especially in the lower leagues which is where we're going. The stories of the past remain true today because football is a simple game, another quote from BC.

Taylor simply cant hold the ball up with his back to goal, but that shouldnt be his role.
We have no target man in the squad and thats the fault of either the recruitment team or the manager (either in not getting such a player in, or not identifying the need for one).
its a necessity in the Championship.

I say again- Andy Carroll, pay as you play. Simple remedy.

He was shocking yesterday and how he stayed on the pitch for 90 minutes I will never know.

He annoys the hell out of me when he doesn't stay on his feet and then he pulls that daft face like a little kid who has just been told that he can't have any ice cream.
