I have come to the last position in the team - the strikers. Not too many to assess as we currently only have two strikers in the first team.
Grabban: 6,5
Grabban has finally started to score goals and has now scored 5 goals in the last 6 games which is quite impressive also taking into consideration he only started in 4 of those. That is pretty impressive. Even though Grabban is scoring goals his overall play has still some way to go before I'm fully satisfied. He's is running around and pressing hard for the team but in my opinion Grabban doesn't create enough chances on his own. He does have the ability but is yet to show it on a consistent level. It could all fall into place quite quickly as the guy must be brimming with confidence with almost 1 goal per game. Maybe a bit harsh to only give him 6,5 but overall in the games he has played that is what I'm prepared to give him.
Murphy: 7
I really like Murphy. I believe he has a lot to offer after he got his personal problems out of the way. He has 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 games (not counting the Blackburn game where he only played 4 minutes). He has more or less the same scoring ratio as Grabban (around 50%). I have rated Murphy above Grabban as I believe that he has done a better overall job than Grabban. His assist for Lolly's goal against Middelsbrough was very good as was his fantastic goal against Stoke. The old guy has still some pace left.
We are of course a bit thin in the striker area but hopefully Karim Ansarifard will get his work permit soon so he can finally become a Forest player. I believe this could prove to be a very good signing. He did very well at Olympiacos last season scoring 18 goals in 34 games. He also scored a fine penalty against Portugal in WC this summer. His value on Transfermarkt is 4m EUR which is a bit of a surprise as Forest will get him for free. Possibly a present from mr. Marinakis?
The big question is if we will sign a new striker in the January window. If we are in or around the play off places I believe there is a strong possibility of Karanka doing just that.

I think both of those ratings are fair.
Worth mentioning the two missed pens by Grabban as well.

He wasn’t alone, we continue to concede goals and Fox and Pants continue to get picked.

You can have the best defenders in the world but if you allow the opposition to run through your midfield without interference I can guarantee you that you will concede goals.

Back on track. This is a great thread by GaribaldiRED, let's not spoil it by derailing it.
In my opinion, we have 2 top strikers for the league we are in.
Both Grabban and Murphy guarantee goals in this league and both have hit the back of the net frequently so far this season.
My only worry is over their fitness. An injury to one or the other or even both (shudder) and we will be woefully exposed.

Neither goal conceded yesterday was down to the midfield?
FFS can we keep the thread on track please?
How many more times does it have to get derailed.

Again with the aggression.
I was just responding to GB, discussing Forest.
If you want more people to post then restricting debate about the main purpose of being here won’t entice anyone.

GaribaldiRED made a great thread called player ratings after 12 games, that is what we should be discussing.
Both Murphy and Grabban have done very well so far this season, Grabban I expected to score golas and Murphy has surprised me a bit if I am honest but in a nice and positive way.
Hopefully soon we can chuck Ansarifard into the mix too and I will be happy with the striking options at the club. Having said that, I wouldn't say no to a new striker in January!
