I thought he was a micro-manager? Not sure that fits with the ethos that is trying to be instilled.

Wilder would undoubtedly want ore of a say in the way the club is run than Lamouchi or Hughton. But I don't have a problem with that, nor do I see Dane having a problem with it either tbh. He's a very workable bloke, and I think that there could be a similar Cough+Taylor dynamic between Wilder & Murphy if they click. Considering the way Sheff U play off the ball too (essentially Gegenpressen, but not as high up the pitch) I think that would work too.
He knows how to get out of L1 if we do go down, he's local so wouldn't have to uproot, he's always had his eye on our academy lads, and he values attitude first above all else - something which we seriously need to instill in this club. Out his depth in the Prem, but will have learned from the experience. I don't think we'd land much better tbh (athough I do think it'd take him a bit of tim eto get things working, as he already knew Sheff U inside & out before taking over) AND....he doesn't play with traditional fullbacks. Goodbye "no LB curse"! :D

Not that I think it will be Chris wilder, but he is the first man linked to the job this morning in the papers.

If we get a new manager and it remains If, Im almost certain it will be someone from abroad. DT hinted that too that he didnt know many of those that were making noises about their availability which suggests foreign. Who the club chooses to talk to of course if different.

These rumours about Wilder are annoying. Sheff U are in a mess that he left them in...we Forest fans go off on one about recruitment...Wilder recruited Brewster for daft money. Paid good money for Robinson for Cloughs sake! Robinson is marginally better than Bong and as injury prone as anyone.
He did take them up twice and played some easy on the eye football, but he has gambled their financial future. but If he came in and didn't get instant success people would be on his case. His Championship record is worse than Hughtons... Are we just cursed?

Wilder was out of his depth in the Prem. Let's just get there first.

Did they sell their ground to fund his transfers? I dunno. I don't follow Derby that closely. SA. |
