Sometimes the writing is just on the wall and I believe it is in this case, it's one thing to have the Twitterati on your back but once you've got the supporters booing you and singing "sacked in the morning" I don't think there's any coming back from that.

Yep, its a good argument. It still did feel like a patched up squad though.

But perhaps it felt that way because of the tactics? There's always been very little fluidity throughout Hughton's time here and a disjointedness. I'm not gonna sit here and say it's all his fault because it isn't but I am disappointed, I've expected much better from a manager of his pedigree.

Unless you know a tactic that doesn't include left back?  :D

But that's my point Wassy, last season he did have a left back, in my opinion Ribeiro looked like one of the best in the division under Sabri, perhaps it's fair to say he dropped off in the next season but again some of that has to be attributed to the disjointedness. I just don't see a sudden marked improvement happening under Hughton even if he does get the 4/5 more players we badly need. Perhaps I'll be wrong and we'll fly up the table but I just don't see it.

I know I included the Dane out option but come on the bloke has only been here a few months. Surely we give him a few years to see his strategy in action?

I think he made a mistake not signing a left back but otherwise we've been unlucky with three defenders injured and two suspended already which has left us short, along with Garner dragging things out.

It has left us punting the first 4-5 games it seems but should probably judge at the end of the year, not at the end of the 5 games. The season is 46 games not 5 though.

I think its much fairer to judge him on a wider pool of work, particularly at least until the end of next week when the deadline will finally be over.

I dont disagree the team has not improved, its arguably not got any worse either. Ribeiro chose to leave though, you could argue Hughton failed to get the best our of him perhaps but it's clear that something else went on with him off the pitch. I don't think it would be fair to blame Hughton for what happened there.

I mean at this point it's fairly irrelevant, even if we smash the final week of the window it seems unlikely CH could turn the tide. Hopefully the new manager has a completely different team to work with

Do I think CH can take us forward long term? No
Do I think any new manager would have had a better start to the season? No

Thats kind of the point I was making by voting for it. If we had employed Steve Cooper for example back in June and he had lost his opening 4 games (which he would have done assuming the squad was the same) can you imagine the pressure he would be under already?

Dane out?! Wowsers! Based on the transfer business that hasn’t yet been done in a window that has over a week to go, in a market affected by the financial effects of the pandemic, when we’re changing strategy of trying to buy hot prospects that are sought after by other clubs instead of taking the cart round clubs and shouting Bring out yer dead. And after inheriting a budget that sounds close to FFP constraints.

I think I’d give him at least until the end of the window!

Gotta be CH out... I know shock right.

Sorry but if we had lost 4 games but shown a desire to win, an intent to attack the opposition and actually had a go at teams then I could get behind the manager.

If we had been unfortunate in games and lost because we were trying to win the games or he had shown he was capable of changing his approach I could get behind him.

I understand people frustration with dane also but if we are going to blame others we need to loom deeper than just dane. He has had little time to implement anything. If he had been bought in earlier then fine but a few weeks in the job. No... we could have been making signings prior to his arrival but decided to sit and wait until he was in knowing full well he had a contract with barnsley that didn't end until the end of June. Knowing he was back in America until the second week of June. Dane may have been slow starting but there are other people working at the club who could have been doing.

And yes yes OK there has been a lack of CH signings but let's look at the 4 he has made last season and the 3 this. Garner, knockeart krov and Murray... only garner was of any real use. Knockeart was an expensive passenger. Murray had a good game and then barely played krov was ineffective in most games . Hovarth may well be good but it doesn't matter how many errors samba makes he doesn't want to change. Tutu.... shock we sign a player with injury history and he gets injured. Zinc looks quality but he will be gone in January so will need to replace him.

CH has had 7 signings... he needs more but do we really want him bringing in more of his own.

No he wouldn't be under any pressure as long as he showed attacking intent, that's what I've heard...

98th minute goalkeeper error falls under the unlucky category in my opinion.

Absolutely, we should of course charge forwards with a bunch of kids and get pasted 4-0 every game. Grabban and Taylor would still miss every chance regardless.

I don’t particularly like Hughton, thought we were awful last season with a stronger squad but I cannot for the life of me understand why those who thought he was the right man 3 weeks ago now think its all his fault.

Yes it could do.... but it was coming was it not. I mean we sat off and sat off the whole second half as seems to be our tactic. We invited them on... now a better team wouldn't have taken until the 98th minute and cov were not a good team.

The thing is the only person who couldn't see us losing was CH... it was obvious that the goal was coming as it has been in each of the 4 games. 2-1 sounds close but in reality we were never in with a chance of winning these games because of the way we played.

I know other will disagree but I vote CH out because of the tactics he employs not because of his lack of signings. 6 defeats in a row now is it? 2 wins in 18 games. Managers have been sacked for far less... wars, karanka and Martin O'Neil. I. Not saying any of these managers were the answer but I also don't think Ch is the answer I never have and 46 games later I stand behind that.
