To be played on Wednesday 11 August.
At the World Famous City Ground.
Kick off is at 19-45.
So with both Worrall and Soh missing with injury do we risk our only 2 remaining experienced centre backs McKenna and Figs?
An injury to one of those two will drop us right in the shit.

Think I might be tempted to play Fernandes.

I think we will see quite a few u23's in the side on Wednesday with just one or two starters from Sunday.
I definitely think Samba will not even be on the bench with Horvath making his debut and Smudge backing him up on the bench.
He may still play Johnson and also give Zinckernagel his first start with Swann up top.

Forest may have little choice.
Did well in pre-season? One game review had him very composed and solid. Another, slightly less so with lots of sub's in positions ahead of him.

Will CH use the fixture as a way of getting some fitness into the players, or will he play a 2nd string side? A bit of both I reckon, depending on the levels of fitness, especially as in some positions we're bare bones.
I'd reckon it'll be this:
Horvath
Gabriel Fernandez Figs ????
Zincs Yates Cafu Mighten
Grabban Carvalho
I have no idea who will play left back. Bong surely is too precious to risk now that Soh is injured?

Bong will play I reckon, surely wants to get some more minutes into him in case we do need him for a few more weeks at least.

I can see that maybe, but if he gets inured then we really are in the shite for a really hard game on Saturday.
I missed Yates out of my side above. here it is again

I'm thinking the young lads are generally very fit and can play and play and play.

I think you're righty, Tricky.
Flood the team with u23's. With a few senior heads. Horvath. And Zinc Man. Would be a good game to put Swann in. Unless is Grabban is back and needs match minutes.
Forest have a tier 1 academy. It's like going back in time to when Hart started pre-season by testing the current team 1st half. And then 2nd half swapped it completely for academy products who played better! (I never forgot that.)

Be interesting to see if Yates plays. I might be tempted with your initial selection. Rest Yates for Saturday. Give Car' (yes, folks, you heard me...) a go alongside Cafu is a different idea. Ball playing CM. But will he tackle?
Any ways. Thought your ideas were fresh.

Good catch! Master Fornah. Showed promise in pre-season with his ball distribution? Interesting to have him alongside Cafu.
Car', Zinc to get some match minutes and Konate. (The latter mentioned Konate by name in pre-season as being good/promising.) Very select attacking trio.
Young guns at the back with new keeper Horvath behind them.
Grabban up front. Needs game time.
Different. Very exciting. Fast tracking Academy dev' with 'real' game time. But makes total sense. Interesting spine to the side. Augurs well for the future?

That'd be an I'm not interested in the competition selection by CH. Could well happen. Only 3 subs allowed too so it's not like we can bring 5 big guns on if we're chasing it later on.
