If we sack Hughton now we will only be able to take someone currently out of work.
If we wanted to get rid of Hughton we should have done it 3 months ago then waved a big cheque under the noses of Nathan Jones and Chris Cohen. We wouldnt get them now.

great post Tricky.
I'm sure that Hughton wished more than anyone to get some good signings in early, but transfers are not easy.

Yep completely agree with that. Patience is a virtue and something we all need to change our approach. It was never going to happen overnight and I suspect it will be 2 or 3 windows until we have everything in place and hopefully a reoccurring strategy/identity.

I think you're 'nail on head' there.
New recruitment CEO/regime? Baby steps. The team has only been put together in the last several months.
You see with the likes of Barnsley, Brentford, Norwich, Swansea. They've been at it years.
It's a simple word. 'Consistency.'
But the new keeper and signings of PZ suggest a different approach. We'll know more when we have another 3-5 in re: the type of targets we're trying to bring in.
What always mystifies me is how teams like Coventry can start a game with a LB. Another team, who, to be fair, have a team who's been doing what they're doing for a while longer with a team that's been together longer and 2nd half? That showed.
Hughton hasn't even had a year in the job yet. (Though to some, it will have felt longer.)

(Forest fans say that time and time again. 'I'm patient...if...' They said that about Billy, Warburton, Forest Legen O'Neil who had a glittering CV, Psycho, McClaren, Joe, The two French managers....Dougie....Aitor.... Hughton who has not even had a year in the job. Not even been patient enough to let the guy get his own Summer signings in. he hasn't actually had a Summer transfer window yet.)
And just who would that be?

big mistake taking on Hughton, talk about 'week 1' but this game was the culmination of many games, 40 'low goals no goals' games last season, same set up week in week out almost a duplicate of the same failed system under Sabri, playing this way week in week out is tedious, we are where we are after the same approach for the previous 2 seasons.
Yes we could possibly snatch players destined for Barnsley or Luton, back in the day players would of begged to play at the City Ground.
But now? Good players would think long and hard about coming to Forest, and our best players, well i think moral isn't good, at best not very good, this tedious self fulfilling prophecy with mr predictable is dragging us down, yet we have to ignore the recent seasons, the actually relevant results and indicators and hope the real Hughton shows up instead of the hologram we have
There you go, and we are only 1 week in, though in reality with Hughton's 40 games and Sabri's 2nd half season 20 games plus, we've had nearly 60 of these sorts of failed weeks already with this 1 dimensional, treat everyone like they are barcelona approach

Doesn't not having enough quality players currently in the squad enter into your equation PSS? Because at this present time, that is precisely the predicament we currently find ourselves in.
We have players out injured, one at least has been isolating. How many actually caught Covid? If there are any, it is not something you can shake off like an headache!
This post epitomises the exact points I made in my earlier post!
