Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager
Barnsley no quality? Don't think that could be further from the truth.

I share some of the frustrations expressed by others but want to give him the whole of this season come what may, think he may pleasantly surprise some of us.

Aye. His football bores me to tears, but he's never finished outside of the top 4 in a full season.

So you'd think we'd give him at least 1 full season here, regardless of "fit".

If CH 'bores' Forest to promotion then he'll have done his job.  The Championship has become pugilistic.  Or always was.  Only Barnsley and Norwich come to mind as exceptions.  And they recruited better players.

I'd be quite happy with solid football with Mighten tearing up the wing...and Brennan Johnston scoring a brace.

It's not like Sabri's football wasn't boring.  Or many of the manager's of the last 20 years.  A good few were bored by Warburton's tippy tappy football with sieve like defending.  I don't recall Forest fans being happy with most of the football of the last 20 years.  Why would they be?

The Billy Davies years were a welcome reprieve from 'the norm.'

I did like Hart's football though.

SA.

That was my point SA. Despite boring football you don't sack a manager off who's never finished outside the top 4 in a full season without ever giving him a full season. Potential relegation aside of course.

Barnsley didn’t have quality. They had identity.

Quality and Identity aren't the same thing. Norwich have quality and identity.

Barnsley the same. Doesn't mean their qualities are even before someone chirps up.

But Callum Styles, Cauley Woodrow, Alex Mowatt, Daryl Dike, Michal Helik, Ronal Palmer all have plenty of quality about them.

Not only did they destroy us on the press, they killed us in possession. Plenty of quality about Barnsley, ignorant to think otherwise.

Don’t agree - sorry… stayed up by a point in 19-20 - playoffs this year was a fluke. Relegation fodder next year -
We will see who is right come may 2022!

Bit disrespectful to say Barnsley had very little quality…And how can a team fluke the play offs?? A team finishes in the play offs because because they deserve to finish there over a full season.

A bit like saying Forest fluked promotion from the second division, fluked winning the first division championship the following year and then fluked winning back to back European Cups. We achieved all that because we deserved to.

You have to respect that it's a very impressive fact.

League tables do not lie; but to compare what Barnsley achieved last season with what we did over 40 years ago is a truly ridiculous comparison.

Oh come on! They fluked a play-off place?! Over a 46 match season?

They finished 5th, 8 points clear of 7th.

I know there’s a desire to discredit Barnsley as they (their manager) was held up as an example of what could be done when a new manager takes over, but saying they fluked their season?

Are there enough Barnsley fans that can read and write to accommodate a Barnsley forum Sniff?  :D
