Saidy Janko

Very promising indeed but we are getting ahead of ourselves, the good thing is we can assess him over the whole season at no extra cost.
There is still Byram of course of we are talking about buying another RB, think we have a loan to buy option on him, wonder if that has cooled though, he has had a lot of injuries for his age.

Janko for me is a better player and will cost less.

If he carries on the way he has started he will be loved here.

I'm not at all comfortable with Darikwa as a defender so I believe we need two RB. Janko and Byram would do just fine if they can stay fit.

Who knows, maybe that is why Dariwka is playing regularly now, there was no need to drop Janko following his early performances, but if he is not part of our future (at least to finish this season), then AK is doing the right thing...giving game time to Dariwka and keep Janko as back up.
Still I find it strange how he was signed for a season long loan and two months before the January transfer window he is being linked with a move elsewhere...its not as if we are a struggling team (like Sunderland last year-vis a vis Grabban-that left for Villa), if he moves to the Premiership I might understand, but Villa !!?? ..

It'll be an agent stirring things up, trying to get his player a deal.

Thats what I thought too. “Come along Forest make me an offer or I may sign for someone else in Jan”.

He still has 3.5 years left on his Porto contract so doubt he would come cheap. He seems to be yet another of those signings made by clubs who have no intention of playing him, just loaning him out and speculating that his fee will increase. And of course his agent gets a cut so everyone’s happy.

I'm not totally convinced by him yet. I'm not saying he's no good, it's just we need to see more of him before we consider shelling out a couple of mill or on him.  As you say, he's on a big contract at Porto - why are they looking to get rid? Why's he out the team now after making such a good start? Is his initial good form just down to new club enthusiasm? Or is he carrying an injury? Who knows.
