Does anyone know how much Worrall is on? Thought not.
People can only guess or they read something on an unreliable website. He'll be on good money plus bonuses for this that and the other plus sponsorship money etc. If he gets injured he will have the best insurance that money can buy.
Who are these player's sitting on the bench or not even in the squad who are earning double what Joe is earning?

Worrall signed his last contract in Feb 2020 when he had only been a first team regular for a few months. It is pretty obvious that wouldnt be mega bucks, indeed if it was any more than £10k per week you could ask questions as to why the club were paying an unproven player so much.
But he has moved on and can clearly command an increase now. The players sitting on the bench earning more? Jenkinson, Bong, Arter, Taylor, Freeman Knockaert will all earn significantly more. You could say fair enough, all those players have been in the PL, we supposedly signed proven quality last season. The disgrace is that not only has Joe performed far better, his attitude and commitment are on another level to the senior pros mentioned.

I see what you did there :)
You went from earning double to earning more and then listed some player's no longer at the club and who belonged to other clubs which is where they got their contracts from :)
Anyway Joe seems happy enough and like I said earlier in the thread if you check back, I am sure that Joe will get his reward of a new contract if he wants one.

If true, and I have no idea if it is, this scares the S**t out of me.
Surely he'd be mad not to go to any Prem team offering him 4/5/6 times the wages plus higher level of football.
Depends not all footballers are greedy. I am sure he's not struggling to make ends meet on 50K per month with bonuses. Over 2 years that makes him well over a million pounds.
^ Sorry but that is the most naive statement I have ever heard. Worrall may not be greedy but he will want the chance to set himself and his family up for life. He could snap his ACL first game of the new season and his career gone forever.
Yes get him a new contract asap. It must frustrate him that there are players happily sitting on the bench or not even in the squad earning double what he is on.
I think you are exaggerating a bit but it's ok. Joe has time on his side and he wants to go to the PL with his boyhood team and with the club he loves and that should be embraced. Not everything is about money in life. It's inevitable that he will leave one day we all know that but by saying that my post is the most naive post you have ever read is also an insult to Joe who happily signed his contract not so long ago. Don't worry he will get his rewards either by signing a new contract with us or by one day moving on.

Thats fair enough DMA, we know that Joe’s dream is to captain Forest in the PL, I genuinely believe he wants that to happen. But he has to think about his career too and we are saying the same thing he either signs a new contract here or he moves on.
To further the discussion a bit, if we take the sentiment out of it for a second my feeling is now is the time to cash in on Worrall. He is a the peak of his value now, the only way his value will increase is by playing in the Prem.We might go up this season, realistically I think our chances a slim and if you are charged with balancing the books at Forest you have to look at that likelihood. Possibly best for all parties if we sell for as much as we can this summer as long as that sum is reinvested wisely.
Thats the route Brentford have gone down, not being too fussed when their best players have moved on and it has eventually paid off for them.Forest have done pretty well at selling players at their peak maybe the one we missed was Joe Lolley a couple of years ago but I accept there would have been an outcry had we sold him.
On the flip side of the argument is what keeps us invested as fans is the thought of seeing Joe lifting the Championship winners trophy wearing a Garibaldi. Its a tough decision for all.

We also have spent decent money on a young backup to Worrall so we have his replacement already (although he's not looked great so far really) I would also be inclined to sell however only if we received a similar offer to Cash.

I don’t know. Until we have showed that we can spend wisely then I think we should keep him. It looks like soh is going out on loan and figs is not as good as Worrall or McKenna. Knowing us, we’d get £10mil for him and spunk it on some prem freebie on 30grand a week.
No. Keep him. Best defender we have and he is one of us. Make him captain and let him lead us to the prem. our defence was our strongest asset last season. Build on that.
In fact now I think of it I honestly can’t believe people would consider letting him go.
Send figs to Burnley and pretend he is Worrall.

I agree with all of this ^
My only observation is that if Grabban is still here next season, then he will get the captains armband again, due to his seniority. Grabban says it is an honour to captain the club and Hughton was happy for him to be the captain. Do I agree with that? No not really, but as an infamous ex manager of ours use to say, it is what it is.

The only main concern I have is that if he(Worrall) decides that he wants to leave and play in the premier league, and if that does turn out to be the case then good luck to him, is that the club will agree to sell him for the best price possible and not take the first offer that's dropped on the table, surely Worrall has to be worth around £15m +, anything less than that is a p#ss take and will surely show that we are desperate for cash.
