The only type of Manager we havent tried for many, many years is one that has been with the club for well over a year!!!!

I was thinking the same.

It’s all relative though, I’d trade in the current guy for him, and at least we’d likely get to see a back 3 of Worrall MbeSoh and McKenna.
I am sure that Nuno will be looking upwards not downwards.
Completely agree Sniff that’s why we only attract dinosaurs like Hughton :D
Oh I don’t expect for a minute he’d come here, that would be a surprise. I read that Wolves are tightening the purse strings and looking at a net transfer spend of zero this summer, and putting ground development on hold. So not going to attract a heavyweight, hence not that surprising that Sabri is in the conversation along with him being a Mendes client and approach similar to the style Wolves had their success with.

So it sounds like Wolves are going to be the next modestly sized club who've spent beyond their means.

Not sure about that. They've got a good return on their investment so far, but trying to break into the top 6 would take huge money and they're not going to try that. So actually sounds like they're being sensible.
I always doubted how far Wolves could with a seemingly Mendes led recruitment approach. The model was great for getting promoted when the players coming were at a much higher level than their league status, but if the club is not calling the shots does it become a vehicle for the agent? It looks like they've wasted a lot of money in the last year or more.
According to the Athletic, Nuno (a Mendes client, obviously) had the final say on transfers and sided with the Mendes suggestions against the in-house suggestions, to the point that their Sporting Director quit early 2020, and things obviously went down hill since.

Back on track with Forest talk. I know some don't like Vrentzos on here and there is no doubting that recruitment could have been better. However that is only half of the story. Vrentzos must also take a lot of credit for sorting out the huge financial mess that EM inherited when he bought the club from Fawaz.
There is no doubt that Vrentzos could have done better with the playing side of things but I doubt that many could have done better in getting our finances back on track.

There is no question that his administration skills are of the highest order; he takes all of the credit for sorting out the mess that was inherited.
I heard at the week end that he has left the building and will not be back; he is to take up a new role within the Marinakis business empire.

That is rumour at the moment, it hasn't been confirmed yet by anyone here in Greece.
It's all gone quiet on Syrianos all of a sudden although it is looking more and more likely that Vrentzos is off. Just waiting for the confirmation I think.
