Just for the record though I am optimistic that Cat 1 will be approved, the new ground development will get the go ahead, transfers will be done differently this summer and next May we will be chanting 'one Marinakis there's only one Marinakis' when we get promoted to the PL
If the new Educational facility is approved and built in time for the Cat 1 appraisal, attainment should be a formality.
I would be amazed if the planning permission for the new stand is rejected, especially with an appeals process in place which takes you all the way up to Central Government.
One thing which has gone un noticed is how well we have performed with regard to increasing income; we have gone from 18m when EM purchased the Club to just under 27m; that is a tremendous performance, however, we will be very lucky to improve on that with our current facilities - If we wish to remain competitive in the future, that Stand is vital.
Transfers have to be done differently, and so does retaining a manager for a period of time; the two go hand in hand.
Tucked away in the latest accounts is a line which shows how much money EM has put into the Club so far - £184m
That amount would have paid for the new stand nearly twice over; that is the extent of the damage a dysfunctional recruitment policy has on the Club, and on EM as an individual.
