Why the defence on here? ( just ignore it if it’s not worthy )

Why the significant interest on social media?

If it’s not newsworthy...

Surely you must see that it's just another (albeit small) blow in the sustained attack on Vrentroz by Danny Taylor?

Ornstein / Taylor are national sports reporters. Is there nothing more newsworthy to report on that this, or is Taylor using a slow news week to just stick in another jab?

We have one defeat in eleven games, we had a good January window, we have a very good manager. Lets talk about that.

No Sniff, let's talk about a Greek bloke the club have just hired who orders light bulbs, gets the boiler serviced on time and who sorts the security guard rota out.

They have started having food delivered from the Kebab shop too. Don't think the delivery bloke is Greek though.

The last time I checked this was a Forest forum - initiated to debate all things Forest.

Some are positive - and they are talked up.

Some are less so - and they get debated ad nauseum.

It’s the way of the world.

Don’t get so defensive.

If folks want to have a pop at the owner for nepotism then so be it.

It doesn’t take away from the success that CH and the players are having on the field.

A diversion - nothing more, nothing less.

It makes the world go around.

If we were all sat in the pub it’s the kind of thing that gets some air time - folks agree to disagree & then turn to whoever’s round it is.

It is a bit dull when the team are doing relatively well and there's not much to talk about. With any luck we'll get stuffed again on Wednesday and the forum will light up as a consequence.

This is creative stuff for a slow news week.

One of the Taylor's would've probably been Ornstein's source you'd imagine but either way Ornstein wrote it and published it. Maybe he was struggling for more interesting things to write about, either way that was his choice not DT's. Unless you think this is a sustained attack by The Athletic themselves? Either way the more national sports reporters willing to attach their names to it, the more validity you would give to the information surely.

For the record, I don't think this is particularly newsworthy but my point is Ornstein is the one to be attacking, he wrote it!

If this forum had been going in the early days of Fawaz's tenure, would we have been debating him employing his son and scoreboard manager? I'd say we probably would. This seems similar to me, though neither of these two people seem to be in such a position of power as Hassan Seif was, thankfully.

Fawaz didn't employ anyone SR so your point is void  :)

There wasn't even anyone to sign a safety certificate or to pay for the pizzas down at Brighton.

That Sausage was newsworthy stuff though. People were acting in roles that they were clearly not qualified to do and Fawaz had gone from a first impression of being a billionaire sheikh to the realization that he was just a rich kid playing at owning a football club. It was newsworthy stuff. This latest snippet is just a shot across Vrentroz's bows. It's a 'we've noticed this has happened and have added it to your charge sheet'.
