I like Knockaert and his relationship with Hughton is key.
Knockaert lost both his brother and his father plus he suffers from some mental health issues. Hughton is like a father figure to him and I think it's under Hughton where he wants to play his football.
The fee though could be a bit of a problem.

I don't think Knockaert has showed yet what he is capable of. It will be interesting to see how he does for the rest of the season as I believe that the team is now ready to kick off. A dynamic midfield with him and Lolley in form on the wings would be mouth watering.

He’s certainly worth his place in this league.
But the cost could be prohibitive.
We surely wouldn’t pay more than ( say ) £2m given his age.

I'd be happy if we could get him on a season-long again if Fulham were up for it, with a purchase clause built in if we go up (let's have a bit of positivity here)!

Fulham might want him back in their squad when they're back in the championship.

I agree, on current showing £2m is about right. If he however kicks on from now until the end of the season then that price tag could rise to £3-4m imo. I would be very reluctant to pay anymore than that.

Knockaert is an difficult one, as you know if there were reports of us spending £3-5M on a 30 year old I would write reams of ranting paragraphs about our useless short term recruitment and wishing a plague on anyone who made that decision. But he has won me over with his performance s even though I dont think he has shown his true potential yet, his attitude and work rate are first class and he has shown genuine quality often the only one in the team to do so.
He is clearly a CH protege and i wonder if he could be our equivalent of Andy Reid version 2 when he came back here at the end of his career but played out of his skin before injury. The other consideration is we could cash in on Lolley, I think we would get a modest fee now but put it towards the purchase of Knockaert? I get the feeling JL may have played his best football for us and is 28 himself now, time to move on?

I'm absolutely convinced that Lolley will get back to his best again if he gets a regular run in the team. He has done great every season while at Forest measuring on goals and assists. It's been a long time since Knockaert produced that kind of stats. Personally, I would not trade Lolley for Knockaert.

Fulham overpayed for Knockaert in my opinion, they can't expect to recoup anywhere near what they payed for him. I hope we can get him.

£5m for Knockaert would be a shambolic piece of business, especially when you build in signing on fees and wages.
No wonder we have to sell off our best young players year on year.
