Discuss Daniel Taylor's Thoughts

Alf

I don’t wish to go over old ground.

If Sniff is at ‘the end of his tether’ as you put it I would be amazed.

He enjoys a debate - exactly what this and every other thread are based upon.

He & I do talk on pm from time to time - we have no issue whatsoever.

So let’s just put things in perspective.

PS I have read every post on this thread - not one shred of evidence has been offered ( except for miracle gates which - as I have said more than once - are an irrelevance ). If you believe me to be ‘blind’ then please direct me to the evidence.

I am sure players talk about it, they are only human and it infests moral and things like that so yes it could be affecting performances in a way. It's certainly splitting some of our fanbase. How can that be a good thing?

Page 9 of this thread sixth post down. It's true that all those things were said, I read them all myself and like Sniff says they are all untrue. I know you won't admit it though but that's your problem not mine.

Thanks Alf.

Nothing new there I’m afraid - just a rehash of stuff that he is alleged to have said. No context at all.

Let’s get this straight. I am not banging on in defence of Daniel Taylor. I - as a fan - am as desperate for what he is alleged to have said to be as unbelievable as anyone. But what he has said - and some on here admit to not even reading his articles / tweets ( so not sure they how they can judge ) - is nothing like some of the incredibly exaggerated stuff that we are now asked to swallow.
The guy is a fan. And he has said many things - some positive, some less so. If folks just want to focus on his criticisms then so be it.

We are all fans and as such we may spout some complete and utter rubbish on here from time to time about the club. But nobody listens to us or takes anything we say seriously. What Taylor has to appreciate is that due to his position in the world of sports journalism his words will be taken as gospel by the fan base at large. So if he spouts some rubbish in disappointment after a game, or makes an assumption by piecing together snippets of information he's privy to then that resonates seriously amongst the fan base. So much so that the fans begin to be disillusioned and anti the club, the owners, everyone they think they can blamed and a spiral of negativity engulfs the entire club. Clubs in that mindset can never be successful.

I would like to think he's aware of this privileged position, in his previous tweets he does mention how he'd covered for this regime over 100 times and got sick of it.

I would argue your making the assumption that what he's claimed is heresay, given you don't know his sources, I dont understand the reasons to immediately assume what he says isn't true. As TPL mentions above a lot of the stuff Sniff was annoyed about I've found no evidence of him even saying anyway and generally he's pretty balanced. He even praised Vrentzos on a number of occasions too.

I get that you and a few other don't like it and can't see how it can help and that is a fair point but if it forces them to change their approach (which tbf there are early signs of that) then it will have been worthwhile.

It doesn't look very good from where I am sitting.

Has it affected the teams performances?

No, we were playing very badly long before he talked about how badly the club was being run!

I am sure players talk about it, they are only human and it infests moral and things like that so yes it could be affecting performances in a way. It's certainly splitting some of our fanbase. How can that be a good thing?

Some of the things that have been passed to DT have come from a player/ players is my guess, especially the detail from the now infamous Zoom call

Not disagreeing, just pointing out that this isn’t about the negative impact on the players as some of it stems from there, albeit I believe at least one player is no longer with us
