Imo they've changed their strategy. They've dumped the idea of bringing in cheap foreign players and are now looking at the domestic market. And, they've now put their trust in a manager rather than a coach who is just fed players. I applaud that strategy. The uncomfortable truth is that this manager now want to bring in players he knows he can trust. We need to back him and get behind him rather than sniping when a couple of results go the wrong way.

So what is the cause?
You just keep going around in circles repeating the same stuff over and over again. (not you personally).
Like I said, if you don't like it get your Vrentzos and Marinakis flags and banners out and get down to the City Ground and take it to them direct. No need to keep repeating the same stuff on here over and over again. Take it straight to them, front them up.
Good Luck.

I accept that point Sniffer sadly that is the short term world we live in, if we arent top 6 then idiots either start calling for the managers head or the owners. People seem too thick these days to contemplate any other solution. Sounding like an old fart, 20 years ago, if your washing machine broke you would get someone to repair it and it lasted forever. Nowadays nobody thinks like that they just buy a new one and chuck away the old one not realising the new one will break in 2 years regardless.
Anyhow I do get your point that it could get messy, if we demand EM leaves we end up like Derby or any number of other clubs. It is a shame because I honestly believe our owners are good and can do so much better.

Stop burying your head in the sand.
He is as much a fan as any of us on here.
He just happens to be a first class investigative journalist - just ask some of those players who were subjected to horrendous treatment when they were younger.
I fail to see why anyone should be troubled by his comments.
If he is wrong - or peddling untruths - then the club should come out and say so.
That’s the way I see it

I want better as well mate, we all do.
Sadly though I can't see a happy ending if DT continues, that is my fear.
I think we all do to be honest no point in us all getting worked up about it , it’s the owners that need to look at things and sort a positive path forward
That’s easier said than done but they are the only ones that can sort the mess they have created, fingers crossed they are learning lessons

That is true, time will tell. I am just getting a bit concerned that it's starting to get a bit out of control. Hope I'm wrong.

True, I just think folk are getting upset due to results and the players attitudes, especially yesterday, but there`s no point in people getting u pset with each other, after all we only want what`s best for the club.

Haha sorry I feel bad about starting this thread then not logging back in all day :D didnt expect this but I guess it just shows how divisive he is.
Personally I think he feels that Vrentzos should be forced out and by highlighting the issues he's found this is the way to do it. Short term pain for long term gain.
The big question is he doing this because he has a grudge or because he genuinely thinks this is the only option. Given his previous work and his clear love for the club and his status as a top journalist I think the latter. However I can see how it can easily come across the other way right now.
Would the people that don't like what he's doing prefer he said nothing? Or just released quarterly athletic updates? Genuine question

I'd prefer he say he wants Vrentzos gone if that's what his aim is, has he actually said that anywhere or has he just said "Vrentzos does this", "Vrentzos does that"? Rather than just waiting for us to lose a match and then throwing bits and bobs out on Twitter he should use the audience and medium he's got to make Marinakis sit up and listen but isn't using it.
I'd also like to know why it's only him doing it? Granted he's a top journalist but is he privy to more than Paul Taylor Or John Percy? If things are as bad as he makes them out surely those other journalists would have something to say.

Vrentzos has been very good at making deals and money for the club.
That doesn't necessarily translate into the pitch.
They've have partially admitted that the Championship isn't like the Greek league.
Maybe it's finally dawning that you need a Championship CV aka Hughton and to let him bring in players of his own.
It's likely a team recruitment philosophy these days.
Hughton and the lessons learn from Vrentzos are likely going to take time to play out.
