Just a point about Mr Hughton’s post match

“We didn’t get in behind them enough”

Well...is that surprising? We don’t get ourselves into positions to do that. The responsibility for that sits with the manager.

He also called out Ribeiro and Taylor effectively for their stupidity late on but when asked directly about the incident with Knockaert when he lost the ball and gave away the free kick basically absolved him of blame.

Very disappointing and some of those comments won’t go down well in the dressing room

Thought the same thing on watching CH`s interview, not impressed so far with him

Felt Hughton's interview was fair. We deserved nothing.

Hughton said our performance before the match needed to match the one v Millwall.

The players reverted to the pre run slow start and giving a soft goal which Christie and Worrall has a hand in. An early goal 1st and 2nd halves did for us.

Warnock exposed our soft fullbacks.

We've had a decent run. We'll need a similar run to haul ass to mid table.

Luckily the results overall aren't damaging. Regroup. A few bits of January business and we go again.

Bad day at the office. Not many positives from this match. I’m sure Hughton will want another unbeaten run starting now.

What I fail to get my head around is how 11 individuals, who all played superbly on Saturday were so poor last night.

Were Millwall so poor that our level of performance raised and Middlesborough were so good, they exposed everything wrong with our side? 

Was the weather a contributing factor to the players (despite the fact the conditions were exactly the same for Boro)?

Had complacency crept in due to them being on a 7 match unbeaten run?

Did Middlesborough simply show how poor we are this season? They are just outside of the play offs for a reason and currently have the best form guide in the league.

Did Warnock study us well and found our weaknesses and played to them? Was Hughton out-manoeuvred by Colin?

I don't know the answers to why we were so poor last night. Lets hope we pick ourselves up and get a good result at Swansea on Saturday. A decent cup run would be good for confidence and bring in a few extra quid as well

True, but teams at the bottom don’t tend to win games. It’s very very unlikely both will win games in hand.

Agreed, I wasn’t looking to dig him out, just saw the stats and thought they were worth sharing. 

I thought he was excellent against Millwall and those two defensive headers at the end of that match were immense under pressure. 

However my perception has always been that he is defensively weak and his attacking game is what earns him a spot ahead of Jenkinson and the now departed Darikwa.

Yes.  We beat Millwall.  They were On a poor run.

A Warnock Boro side with 'some' quality in there had an off day vs Birmingham.

Different propositions.

And I think you some up all the reasons why we lost that. With a Boro player easily ghosting by a Forest midfielder for the killer pass. Midfield again slice through for the 2nd. (Think Sow was off for that one and each time he's been taken off the cm seems to get over run.)

If you have soft fullbacks then a Warnock side will eat you alive. Infact, were weak on the sides...full stop. That's been at the heart of our problems. Defensively frail. Weak positioning. Lack pace to get behind. And that put pressure on our central banks in ch and cm. if Joe steps up why isn't Christie with him. Man for man we didn't win our battles. And some may argue that Joe has to go with Brit and lost his man.

We didn't switch on and seemed tired.

They probed right side then left.  It seemed we got caught going forwards and out of position.

We had several warnings with Hughton yelling his head off.  Then Worrall seems to think you can leave Brit alone in the penno area as Christie plays Joe's step on by being too deep?

It was the worst we've played before the recent run.

Another poor result against a top 8 side.

Disappointed. But it's down to Hughton, the players and Recruitment to sort this. It will take time and have frustrating days like last night.

Forest weren't at it and you get that vibe that we weren't going to win that as soon as the initial momentum had Forest's back line rattled.

In Warnocks recent praise of us we weren't defensively tight or dogmatic in midfield.

I like Ribeiro but I am interested to see Bong get a run of games now - hopefully his crossing will give us a bit more penetration.

Christie for me should not be in the team at present - he has too many lapses in concentration that end up costing us. He doesn't have that fight for the cause battling spirit that i think is needed.
