What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy

Hughton would prefer not to sell Worrall.

It happens.

We probably need the cash.

But - if true - it’s a Vrentzos decision.

Worrall is going to leave at some point whether Hughton, us or Vrentroz want it or not. He's a premier league player in a middling 2nd division side. If it doesnt happen this window it will happen next.

But it wouldnt need to happen if we were heading in the right direction. None of the selling of academy products would need to happen if we had a coherent plan to obtain promotion. Joe will want premier league football eventually but he would prefer to stay with us. Unfortunately I cant see it happening without changes as to how the club is run.

That's a slightly different argument. All I'm saying is that Joe will be on his way sooner or later and we need to accept that. But yes, he does have affection for the club and I'd hope that would translate into a bit more loyalty from him. But if the club say we want you out then that might mean nothing.

Losing Joe would be a body blow. Since coming back into the side he has been head and shoulders above any other CB I have seen in The Championship this season. Against Stoke, the sky build up focused on their defence and the amazing 3 CBs (included an Aussie and a youngster) keeping Shawcross on the bench. On the day Worrall was far better than any of them.

Even his previous critics who felt he would never be good enough (I know right?) have done a full  U-turn. The frustration is that I think he is likely to be more of a Lascelles or Cash than Burke or Brereton. Once he gets games in the Prem his value will double from the likely £10 or maybe £12 million a Championship CB can realistically command.

If it is Burnley (interestingly his best mate Notts cricketer Jack Blatherwick moved to Lancs) though he will have to bide his time. Any other side, maybe even alongside Mings at Villa he would very quickly become a £25 million player. Put it this way, I would pick him ahead of Tomori who played regularly for Chelsea last season and made England squad!!!

I hope he stays, but as others have said, he is a premier league centre back playing in the lower reaches of the Championship. McKenna and Duffy plenty good enough for Championship if this happens, but still gutting.

Yeah I don't think for him he should make that Burnley move, they've just done a pretty dodgy takeover and have two established CBs, even if they plan to sell Tarkowski at some point. This new takeover is leveraged like Man Utd using club debt to fund it so they will be paying excess interest every year. They will inevitably come back down soon.

I think we are all getting carried away. Who said Worrall is leaving?

It was an assumption based on the Duffy links, which have now been rubbished anyway.

Explain yourself Sniff please.

Yes I do have great faith in Danny Taylor.

A fan who is using his column to tell it like it is.

If he’s wrong then the club should have the balls to challenge him.

Seems very quiet.

Fair enough Sniff.

But I do view the way this regime treats its employees as totally unacceptable.

This is not the way to develop a successful football club.

This is my opinion too, the club don't even offer a denial let alone an explanation. Until I hear anything from the club's point of view I will assume DT is 100% correct as that's the only information we've got to go by.

Not sure what else we're supposed to do other than that.

How is he 100% correct Wassy. Some things DT has said have been far from correct!

eg. Ribeiro is in the bomb squad and won't play for us again. We aren't going to apply for Cat 1 for the Academy. The new stand is just a smokescreen. All aload of rubbish.

Anyway I am totally sick of DT infesting this forum so I'm not mentioning his personal agendas and his subscription based ramblings again. I'm done.

The minute a football club begins to interact with rumours its on a hiding to nothing as every rumour that then doesnt get denied is taken as gospel. Its like countries refusing to negotiate with hostage takers. The minute you do, every f****r takes a hostage.
