PNE Fans Halftime Ramblings.....
There’s no way Sow should be on the pitch still
DJs phucked.
When you look at the quality of players available to Forest, they shouldn’t be near the bottom of the table - Knockaert, Cafu, Ameobi, Grabban.......
Hope for his sake that injury isn’t too bad.
There goes any chance of getting a fee for Johnson
I have vague but strong recollections of a match in the 70s against Leicester City at Deepdale with the brilliant Peter Shilton in goal. We were on the Kop end behind the goal, i can remember Shilton running out from goal, the ball gets deflected, ballooning high over his head ending up with six foot plus Shilts chasing back against five foot nothing Archie Gemmill, with Archie just getting there first to tap the ball in, with Shilton lying crumpled against the post.. It was one of those time stood still moments the ball seemed airborn for ever !!!
Would have to have been 11th October 1969; a 2-1 PNE win.
BBC Final Score match reporter commented that 6 Forest players are wearing gloves - 0 PNE players.
Rudds wearing gloves the big fanny!
DJ stood up like his leg had been hacked off, he couldn’t walk, by the time he reached the touch line he was hardly limping...... and then straight back on
How many folk will be on Deepdale next season? Not many I'd wager.
That first half was a complete non event.
Davies showing he's ready for the cold Glasgow winters wearing his short sleeved shirt.
Reckon we need Riis on second half
Helps if you quote what you're yawning at. Unless you're just yawning at the game, ha.
None of our lot can hold the ball up.Simply getting bullied all over the pitch.
Has to be changes at half time. Riis must come on. After all the fuss about getting a striker in, Neil barely uses him. That was just a complete waste of 45 minutes. Looks to me like we would settle for a goalless draw at 3 o clock.
Stop being a bellend then, course I'm watching it, it's a tight championship game on a tricky pitch played out in incredible circumstances with players running on empty.
Right so you're the only person who thinks we're not playing shit and I'm the bellend? I don't know what your rose tinted specs are watching, but it seems that Forest can pass, move, win the ball and create a lot more than us......so how does that make it incredible circumstances with players on empty?
Guess it’s gone according to plan.
Stifle the life out of the game best we can for as long as we can and keep it level.
Just need to somehow (God knows how with this strategy and line up) to nick a goal - oh and to somehow keep a clean sheet.
Would like to see Riis involved early second half to at least give us a threat and help keep the Play in the Forest half.
Perhaps that’s too positive though for AN
Jesus if ever we needed some creativity it’s this January!! We are so blunt in the final third and have nobody anywhere near maguire, really feel sorry for him as he works his nuts off!!
If Neil is going to persist with 4-3-2-1 this half, drag Potts off, Barky on the right, maguire left and Riis up top, I’d even bring on Gally for Johnson and push Bayliss higher up.
All in all shite to watch, 1-0 to either side written all over this.
Same BBC reporter just said that that was th worst half of football he’d seen all year.
I think he meant this CALENDAR year.
We will win this.
Interesting the in play betting has NF as favourites on 1st half display.
I wish Ledson showed as much variety and better delivery on set pieces as Gallagher does.
I don't trust Ledson on a yellow card for another 45 minutes, he's really f*****g thick
Haven't seen Browne complete a single pass all game
It's just awful to watch. Changing my vote on the sack Neil thread again.
Weve actually played better than I expected when I saw the team today. Forest are so low on confidence that they are there for the taking. Poor match but conditions aren’t helping. Maguire doing well in his lone role but not a goal threat. Will A N bring on Riis or Stockley to support him, probably not. Only if we go a goal down will he send for the cavalry.
I'll take a draw.
So far this has been rather like Tuesday with our opponents playing a passing and running game and us generally just hoofing it upfield - the difference being we haven't got that break to give us a goal. Maguire has hassled and harried and on the few occasions when he has received a ball to his feet has looked to make use of it but otherwise there has been nothing of note in our approach play. We need to get Riis on with Maguire maybe dropping deeper. Bayliss has looked fine.
I’m not normally a fan but Hughes was outstanding that half. As much as I like Earl, decision justified for me. Baylis looks very nervous, I’d like to see him push on a little and maybe commit others on this pitch - that may happen if Johnson has to go off, which looked likely. I suspect they might well have been trying to save a substitution ‘slot’ because he looked to be really struggling.
Matchday thread, once again, a million times better than the game.
Thankfully forest's shooting is shite
There's an argument that if we take Ledson off we are losing the midfield battle anyway, since we have no ball winners. As such, cede the extra man, and play a second striker.
Forests away form is abysmal. W1 D3 L7 F5 A15 but we had the usual talk from Ben Rhodes and AN pre match about what a good side Forest are blah blah blah. Excuses excuses.
