Nottingham Forest - Swansea City
I have read 1st 9 pages before commenting l, apologies if repeating.

In a nutshell; We play well for a while, miss easy chance (albeit he made it himself), then individual errors result in a crap goal conceded, then almost nothing.

Credit to Swansea who look a very capable side.

My view: in a pretty pi$$ed off state:

Samba - Fine
Christie - was awful today even by his standards.
Ribeiro- Was ok, as usual defended solidly, won his headers and continues to dispel the bullsh1t myth that he cant head it at back post. Wish he'd been there against 5'8" Robert's instead of 6'4" Sami..
McKenna - a couple of uncharacteristic errors including sh1t header for goal. Currently our best player.
Figs - Has returned to early season "form". He is relatively young for a CB and needs taking out of firing line. The goal stemmed from his ridiculous skewed back pass and he nearly cost a couple more.
Colback - was ok until injured. Not everyones cup of tea (he was woeful at Bournemouth but good at Barnsley). Injured by a tackle from behind.
Yates - steady, won alot, covered alot, gave the ball to the supposedly better creative players alot.
Ameobi - Poor day, defied physics to get done at back post with huge height advantage.
Knockeart- now 24 games without an assist. That's embarrassing. Vardy was right about him, hes a show pony with no end product. (Some might say just pony) Did well to open up goal with some nice skill, then hits it straight at keeper. Lots of ok corners, lots of beating a man then losing it. Lots of blaming those around him who continue to give him the ball. If he went back in Jan and Mighten took his place I would not give a sh1t.
Guerrero- that early promise v Barnsley seems to belong to a different player. Too early to judge, but not great today.
Taylor - I still think he should probably have got a goal today, but gave the tightest defence in the league alot of problems. Feeding off scraps again.

Arter - Gave the ref more problems than he gave Swans. Probably good in 2017. In 2020 not so much.
Lolley - Hope the effects of those injections kick in soon as he looked in pain from his introduction.
Swan- Liked his work rate and looks quick. Congratulations to him on making debut. I hope we will see much more of him over the coming years.

I would rather see our team built around likes of Worrall, Yates, Johnson, Mighten, maybe Swan and maybe Jake Taylor is it? They are hell of alot cheaper and more likely to make us some cash in future. Then likes of McKenna, Taylor, Sami, Lolley etc can add to it.

It seems to me our policy since new ownership has been roughly:

Season 1: Sign promising young players and proven goal scorer (aged 30 odd), try to play football. Sack manager.
Season 2: Use a super agent, sign promising overseas players, esp Portuguese and a proven goal scorer ..sack 2 managers.
Season 3: Sign mainly low cost but relatively unknown overseas players, do OK. Keep manager.
Season 4: Buy or loan high cost "experienced Championship " players - mostly others rejects, plus any other player that appears on market, some of which we clearly don't need. Send promising youngsters to League 1 to learn trade (agree with this) but 1st team look awful. Sack manager. Employ top manager....to be continued.

Try leaving the Jonah out of the team for a while and see what happens  :D

Re Yates, Spurs statistically has a similar problem with a guy called Bale. They sorted that one out.

When Silva also got injured...........we stopped creating and stopped winning.  Silva getting injured (with Sow also injured) is what killed the end of last season.

Pretty sure Silva was benched towards end of season as he was playing poorly? I could be wrong though as I have tried desperately to blank out end of last season.

I didnt think he gave us enough of an attacking threat last year in terms of assists, goals and ball retention, but after seeing likes of Knockeart (24 games no assists) spunk up possession all the time, Silva seems like a player from a golden era in comparison.

I was shouted down when quoting a similar statistic in Lamouchi’s final few games

The response “well he must be good because every Forest manager picks him”.

Where are those managers now?

These are the stats for Ryan Yates from the beginning of the 2019/20 season to the present time...........

2019/20 season. Ryan made 28 appearances through the course of the entire season. Forest's results in those 28 matches were Won 10, Drawn 9 and lost 9. He scored 3 times and received 1 yellow card and 1 red.

2020/21 season. Ryan has made 13 appearances this season so far. In the 13 games he has been a part of, Forest have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 7. No goals or cards.

I think it is a fair shout about the 4 wins in 40 games played being total f*****g bullshit!

Not surprising. Some people on social media have an agenda with Yates.

Personally, I think if certain other players did their own jobs as well as Yates does his most of the time, we wouldn't be in this hole....

Well I’ve just trawled through the stats and - when Yates has played 90 minutes - we’ve won just 3 league games?

To spend any time to look for “statistics “ to criticise a young Forest player that you don’t think is good enough is pathetic in my opinion.

More pathetic than coming on a forum to criticise the person posting the stat!?
