I wouldn't be against that idea Jock, Karanka didn't seem to fancy him, he seem to prefer Darikwa who to be fair looked a much better player under Karanka than what we did under Warbs.

I think Darikwa is preferred as he is taller. I would imagine a 1st choice RB will be purchased once Eric leaves and Darikwa will be back up RB (able to play RB and RM)
For LB I also think a new tall LB will be purchased and Osborn will be the back up LB (able to play LB and LM) There really could be up to 10 new additions coming in.......complete revamp of the 1st team squad.

Yep, I am also expecting about 10 in mate, can't wait for us to get started. COYR.

Rhodes on an extreme cut price might be a good option, but that is very unlikely.
karanka has said we will be loaning players also.

If we end up with Rhodes then that would surely mean that we didn't get plan A,B,C or D which would be hugely disappointing.

When we look at the positions that need filling with quality and to add quality in depth. It's about time a Forest manager completely revamped the 1st team with genuine quality and added depth of quality to the squad...to the spine and fleshing out all the other positions. It's a back to front thing. Building from the back. Leaders. Height. Energy. Toughness. Experience. Quality as well? Darikwa. He seemed to improve under Karanka. I wondered whether he will get the odd game on the RW given some of his attacking work to date but he's decent back up at RB at least. He seems to have the attributes but maybe he needs more coaching in a tighter system to get the best out of him? Forest have been a bit soft in the LB/RB areas for a while and need quality and sturdy athletes to play the way Karanka sets up? It looks like Eric maybe on his way out? After that 'red card' it seems like his cards had been marked? Talking about the subject of height in the squad. Liam Bridcutt isn't the tallest. Will he go out for a taller player of quality to come into the side? The same for LB/RB? Forest can't seem to score from set pieces and struggled all season to defend them. Be interesting to see what height the players are of the players who come into squad this Summer? Against Villa at the City Ground last season someone noted it was like '...Hobbits against the Elves.' Maybe there is a 'height' issue to be addressed with recruitment? Short of putting current players on the stretch rack? SA.

It was definately men against boys when we played Villa last season, we were completely bullied (not in a bad way).
We need real men, people who have been there and done it. People like Dawson, Watson, Leadbeater etc. People who will stand up and be counted.

Good post Jasper and you are spot on, Villa did bully us. With the additions of Dawson, Hefele, Soudani, Robinson etc, not to mention Colback and Watson, I am confident that it won't happen again. We are a lot more streetwise too now.
COYR!
