I’m clearly in a minority of one when I say that I have not been impressed with Christie so far - and the penalty is certainly not colouring my view.

Win on Friday will give us 7 points from 3 games in 7 days.
Would’ve taken that last Saturday morning. Time to complete the job.

He’s had enough chances this season to be top scorer in the league! I stopped reading when you said he cost us three points. You do realise that’s actually impossible?

It took Grabban eight games to score in his first season with us. He then went on to score 16 in 21 further games.

Watch his reaction to his miss.
He cares more than people give him credit for, Yates chance was a lot easier than this.

That was a strange nights watching. We never looked like conceding until Christie gave the ball away and then compounded his error by slipping and sticking out a leg. So stupid mistake aside we looked really solid.
We also created at least 4 sitters scoring only one. Freeman, Grabban and Yates will all have a sleepless night running those over and over n their heads I'm sure. But here's the thing. No chances conceded and loads created is a recipe for success. Granted missing 3 sitters every game would be a bad idea, but we know that's not going to happen either. 4 points from first 2 games a good start. 7 from 3 would be even better. I feel really positive. Chris Hughtons red and white army are on the march....

Nice to see some sanity!
One thing to add, Christie wasn’t the only that slipped on the ball today, Grabban, Ioannou, Yates, Figs and Colback all did. I wonder if the pitch was heavily watered.

Grabbans miss was particularly bad but his off the ball work and support play was excellent as ever. He has missed some sitters lately though, I'd play both. Would like to see what we have with Taylor, came pretty highly rated.
Thought that last half hour was really good, created loads of chances. Penalty was unlucky otherwise they didn't look threatening. Definitely feels more solid now than a few weeks ago and that we actually might create chances. Feeling positive although I do wish grabban had scored! |
