Ryan Yates
I think Yates will score a hatrick tomorrow, i'd try him out as captain, sort of fella whose level of performance would improve even more, he's in the middle and vocal and generally wants to gee up his team mates

Glad to see some appreciation for Yates. He's had a lot of unfair criticism from some fans, we sent him to spend a transfer deadline day in Hull's car park if the story is true, but he's still giving total commitment. Top guy, and still improving on the pitch.

I have never understood why certain sections of our fan base have had it in for Ryan TBH. I most certainly never had. Then again, I was supportive of Benny Oz as well, another who did very little wrong and gave their all for the club but were never fully appreciated.

I did have issues with Ben Brereton though. I felt he spent too much time diving to get free kicks but only ended up giving the ball away all of the time.

Good. It tells you something about the lad when Millwall and Boro are both after him. Rowett and Warnock.

Bet Pullis would be sniffing around him too if he were in the game still.

Ryan Yates is and will be a very good championship midfielder. He is similar to mcTominay and Rice in my opinion but obviously at championship level.
He does have limitations though and he needs to work on his weight of forward pass and speed of passing. If he can improve this he will be a very good championship footballer capable of the step up to premiership. Not sure he will but useful to have and worthy of his place at the moment.

I think he will be  Prem player sooner rather than later. Hope it's with us and not Burnley or the like. Think it's a bit if a myth that he cant pass. Yes he tends to keep it simple, but he usually puts a good bit of zip on it. Left foot forward pass to Lolley on Saturday gave him an unlikely assist.

I would have him in my side all day long.

Yates still has a lot to learn about positioning for a central midfielder. I like his effort but he really needs to add application to his game if he wants to keep his place.

I notice that Yates under CH has quickened his game and passing, only problem both tend to be sideways, he needs to either drive or run forward with the ball after all he is a big strong lad.
Rotherham had a lot of success driving forward through the centre of midfield and when JL did the same late on they had to take him out resulting with a free kick just outside the D, more of this please lads!
