Nottingham Forest - Newcastle United

Like some others I think we got a little bit carried away by the hype about how good a side we have now become but the truth is we haven’t gone from a team survive with lowest ever points total in the premier league to a top six team in the space of a few months. We have improved but not enough to go toe to toe with top half teams. We beat Liverpool by starting the match with five central midfielders and frustrating them. Against Chelsea we played 4 central midfielders. Against Newcastle we thought we could go for it like we did against wham but were to open and got overrun in midfield. In saying that we went in at half time leading against the run of play. No disrespect to Nuno who has done well recently but he should of seen how the game was going and closed it down taking the wingers off and bring Anderson and JWP on. Maybe also Moratto for MGW and Taiwo for Wood to chase balls into the channels. I think a really top manager manages to win that game with the good fortune of scoring the first goal against the run of play. Hindsight though is a wonderful thing and most supporters would have agreed with the starting line up.

I also disagreed completely with the commentator who said he and MGW can't exist in the same team. Anderson probably should've started over Dominguez and I'm confident he'll start over Elanga or CHO next game.

That said, tricky to change the team after a dominant victory and take out an attacking player, so I wouldn't get too annoyed. Just would've been nice to keep the run going another week.

For me it’s Anderson or MGW if we stick with this formation.

It’s clearly his best position.

Don't agree with that personally, can't see I watched those games thinking Anderson was going to create tons of chances in the way I would expect from MGW.

I think he's better deeper and I don't mind him out wide as he's decent defensively.

Pretty decent record with him in the side while MGW was suspended.

He creates chances in a more advanced position than MGW, and carries the ball higher up the pitch.

Leicester and Palace, not exactly tough opposition. Not sure that's a big enough sample .
