The Premier League 2024/25
And the transformation in our defensive stats so far - particularly the corners one.

Still four teams without wins after eight matches - the first time in the Premier League era that it's happened.

Just shows that the league is losing it's competitiveness which is not good. The last season to make the breakthrough was 22/23.

Two of those have been in the PL for quite a while, only one promoted team is in the relegation zone at the moment.

Everyone in the media saying it's only a matter of time until Wolves and Palace pick up results and get out of trouble. Well to me Palace looked like a carbon copy of our side that got relegated with Keane, Pearce and Clough in it. Back then everyone was saying we were too good to go down but the results just never came. We'd go a goal down and you'd know the game was lost. That was Palace last night. They had no confidence and their good players, Eze and Guehi were just lost in the malaise. They conceded and you could tell they never fancied they could equalise.

It's quite funny watching the gushing media commentary of Arne Slot's start at Liverpool and knowing that our win over them is probably in his head more than any of their victories are.

Different stats to show how we’ve got our points this season, but also showing where others are struggling

Not surprising that the teams near the bottom have only had 1 or 2 games against the Other 14 at home.

These teams will improve when they get better fixtures although the increased pressure will make it tough.

I do think our performances against Liverpool and in particular against Chelsea were so impressive. I know we didn't beat Chelsea but after they'd just thrashed Brighton, to match them even with 10 men at times was very encouraging. That's the one that got me excited.

It's incredible to think that three years ago we'd just said goodbye to Chris Hughton and were preparing for another relegation battle in the championship.

Now we're sat in 5th in the Premier League. Just amazing.

Dare to dream big. Gary Neville last night said enjoy it whole it lasts. Many pundits just don't have it in them to compliment us. See it as a minor blip and normal order will restore its self soon. Well I hope we carry this on and sticking right up them.

I'd love us to announce our plans off the field, training and stadium. Continue the growth and feel good factor. Sleeping giants we are. COYR

So what’s the maths involved for us to get a space in Europe then?

Chelsea placed 6th and got conference league play offs Cus league cup winners Liverpool qualified for champs league

Man Utd got europa league for winning fa cup and finished 8th, if it was any of the top 6 teams that win it this season (we can dream of it being us) would 7th get it or would 6th get that and 7th get conference?

We’re currently at 1.77 points per game. 1.25 at home 2.2 away

We will regress to the mean, our current points per game has us finishing 4th (last year)which even I can’t seeing being sustainable. To finish 7th last season we’d need 60 points (historically it’s either 1-2 points either way) which means we’d have to have a ppg average of 1.5 from here on out. Doable?
