Now then if only we could play Andorra every week in the PL we would be golden.

Maybe if the club sign an Adams or Maia, Freuler will start to play further up the pitch.

I would fully expect Freuler to leave this summer.
He just isn’t suited to a really low possession based team.
The team improved immeasurably when he was out of the side
The way we play, we need the entire midfield to be quick and dynamic.

And was also in the team that got totally demolished 6-1 by Portugal in the next round. That’s the Portugal team containing many of the Premier League players he comes up against every week.

Like R73 says I just don’t think he is suited to either the Premier League or the game we play. That doesn’t mean he isn’t an extremely accomplished player at what he does or doubting for a second he is an excellent pro. Reckon he moves back to Italy possibly on loan for the rest of his contract.

Football is about opinions and i respect everybody is entitled to their own ones. I guess we will all have differing ones on certain players, systems etc. I, for one like Freuler but agree that he does not suit the system SC likes to play. Perhaps it would suit all parties if he were to be sold? I would be sorry to see this happen but if it is for the benefit of the team, so be it.

I know it’s gonna be strange me reviving this thread but I’m sure some of us saw that he had an interview about his time at Forest etc etc, I haven’t read it and have seen snippets so I want to post the question.

Regardless of what we know of performances and yes we know that the premier game is different to serie A what do we feel he was bought to do, and why wasn’t he utilised higher up the pitch is that one answered just because of the way we played/set up. There must have been a data reason and like an experience reason for Steve to see the recommendation and go yeah that would be lovely thanks. So why didn’t it work.

I suppose it may have something to do with Cooper having to change tactics and formation a few games into the season. Whatever he had been brought in to do, higher up the pitch was not working and the change to center of a low block was not getting the best out of him.
In Sangare Forest now have a specialist in that position.

I feel our midfield last season was an issue. Ups and downs throughout a turbulent roundabout of transfers. Yates is my favourite player but I recognise he has his limitations and he will probably be best used away from home this season - Chelsea away being a prime example. At home i think he will start of the bench and come on to see games out. This has to be seen as a development of our squad.

Last season the midfield was needed to shield a pourous defence first and foremost and i don't think Freuler suited that role - perhaps more.of an 8 than a 6? The players bought in midfield should see us transition from defence to attack quicker and this has already been seen at Arsenal, Manure and Chelski. At home we need the creativity more as sides (especially the bottom 6-8) will sit and we will have to break them down. Coops needs to develop a system.to suit this.

Errrm….how sure are you about that Sniffer?

It’s somewhat unclear but all indications suggest he only left on loan. He signed a 3 year deal with us so would return to Forest in the summer if not made permanent which is very possible.

Scores goals for Switzerland, that’s what he does.

More poor decision making at NFFC by letting him go.
