He struggled to shoulder the responsibility last season when he was our only hope from the academy, I’m not sure how he’d handle an £8mil price tag on his head and all the Rovers fans expecting miracles immediately - does sound like he’s had an agent in his ear and turning his head rather than staying put and learning his trade.

JC21, not so sure about them having received encouragement for us rather than knowing we have spent a few bob this close season and bidding hoping we may wish to balance the books a little, they are testing our resolve.
Ben is a squad player this season, nothing more than that. We need more quality in the first team if we are going to get up. Im afraid already that the opposition teams are looking at us a little more closely because we have headlined with our spending and so if we can get 8M from Breretons sale, we should take it, add a few more million to it and go get a top quality player who can fill out some of the weakness of our team that are already revealing themsleves.
Left back is still a concern for me, the striking department looks to be lightweight unless Grabban can start to find the net regularly soon and creatively (From the middle or out on the flanks), we may struggle if Geddy isnt firing. We cant rely on one player to provide all the bullets.
To me it makes very good sense indeed to let Ben Brereton leave as a squad player and invest in the first eleven in one of our weak areas.
Wheeling and dealing is vital for a club our size and one of the reason the academy exists and invested in so heavily.

Nixon suggesting Brereton talks now down to haggling over future sell-on clauses. Think it'd be a massive mistake leaving us with just two recognised strikers, neither of whom is currently firing on all cylinders. We have to have a replacement lined up otherwise this is a terrible decision in my opinion.

He needs to be playing after what I have seen so far with Grabban. I think we must have another target in mind if we are to sell him. I hope to god we do.

We have to have. No way will we make the playoffs with just Grabban and Murphy as options.

I am seriously p****d off with this news.
We better have a top class striker lined up as a replacement.

I can only assume we have someone lined up because it makes little sense if we are challenging for promotion.
Top striker on loan and get Tyrone Mings in on loan and I'll quickly forget we letBeno go.

I dont like this one bit. In fact, this has me questioning AK's judgement for the first time since hes been here.
I just hope there are other football people in the club (metgod, brazil etc) who had had a close look at him and decided this is the best move for the club because managers these days make short term decisions as their tenure is short term.
