Are We Going Down?
Back to thinking we're going down. Spurs gonna shithouse themselves out of it.

We simply don't score enough goals. Injuries and extra games aren't helping.

We are scoring away from home now.

3 at Fenerbahce, 3 at Tottenham and 2 at Man City is proof of that.

We are struggling for goals at home though.

Perhaps not a bad thing that 4 of our remaining PL games are away.

Lack of willingness to try and go past the full back from Hutchinson and N'Doye. Seems only Aina and Neco are willing to do that.

I think its less about not being creative enough though and more about just a lack of ability in front of goal from our attacking players. We made enough good chances to be 3 up at HT and once again failed to take them, not like there were loads of great saves either.

I guess last year we were bailed out by Wood and scored more from set pieces, plus Elanga on the break. We don't have that this year.

One of Jesus, Wood (if fit), N'Doye, Hutchinson etc is going to need to step up in front of goal.

Lack of ability or confidence?

I can see it from the wingers perspective, no point putting the ball in the box on the counter when Jesus is surrounded by 2/3/4 men.

N'Doye played one great cross for Dominguez, admittedly he did miss the sitter but still shows what is possible.

Manager was furious with Hutch in the second half when he never took is man on

I know it’s not the populist view but personally I prefer N’Doye out of the three wingers we signed in the Summer, I think his confidence has taken a massive knock.

I can understand that too but we’ve been here before with Dyche, the Everton home game in particular standing out, other players are expected to and need to get in the box but just not doing it enough.

You could definitely point to his reaction to his eventually disallowed goal vs Fulham to justify that.

That said, I think they're all as bad as each other right now. CHO looked a little better than the other three last night but he is not injured. Personally, and if we have the main three CBs fit, I would be playing three at the back and using the wingbacks for the width. Even if that ends up being Bakwa/N'Doye at points.

What are we aiming for then? I reckon
42 points definitely safe
41 very likely safe
40 probably safe
39 maybe safe
38 squeaky

1 win and 3 draws would get us to 42 and I think we are capable of that.

I think a massive amount hinges on what Spurs do against Wolves. If they don't win that then I reckon 38/39 would be enough - maybe even the 36 we have now.

If we could get a draw or better still a win on Friday night that'd heap even more pressure on Spurs and for all they played better against Brighton they STILL didn't win. And what's more dropped points in the most crushing way.

Taking my forest bias out of it, my feeling is Leeds are already safe. As they're on 39, by that logic i think we'll be OK with 1 win from our remaining 5 games.
